As you guys have seen in this house, I have been moving furniture all over the place. I think you have to live in a place for a while and see how each space functions for you before you can nail down furniture placements. Several pieces from our master bedroom and the family room from the last house wound up in the loft/office area of this house, but then I still had a couple of strays that needed a home, so they have finally found a place here too.
The drapes and leather chair were in our family room before and the settee was in our bedroom. The wicker trunk was a makeshift family room coffee table when we first moved into this house. Now all those pieces reside in the loft/office and they work out pretty good.
As a reminder, this is what the space looked like when we moved in. Just 3 wall and that is all, nothing to brag about.
But now I like it and I think I finally have all the pieces necessary to make it feel like "home".
How about you, do you swap furniture around from one room to the next to try and get it right?

Your "girl cave" is perfect! You have mixed a nice selection of textures and colors to make a very pleasing, relaxing and functional area.
ReplyDeleteA perfect area for you Marty!

I feel the way you do, Marty, I move things around a lot. For the most part, I try to make a room look better or at least give it a different look by moving things. I think it's great that you have this loft--I didn't know. I think one of the things we all do is put unnecessary pieces of furniture and odds and ends in rooms just for the sake of having no other idea where to put them. I caught myself doing that recently. Now I just try to rotate things around and keep the 'unsure' pieces in a space in our basement. Every once in a while I take a peek and decide to put it back into use!
ReplyDeleteAll in all, I think it's great you have a girl cave!! :)

You know me- always moving furniture around so I relate. After moving several times and trying to fit the furniture to each home I realized how difficult that can be. Eventually after a while we figure it out. That entertainment unit fits there like it was made for the room. I love that gate leg table- makes for a cute desk!
ReplyDeleteYour "girl cave" is so lovely and functional Marty! Love it!
ReplyDeleteHave a great day! xoxo
