Entrance Refresh

I think a first impression is always important and especially as you greet someone into your home.  We don't have an "entrance hall" in the normal sense of the space.  Instead you walk right into our living/dining area when you enter our home.  I've created a sort of "Entrance" with a console table and vignette.  It's a great place to place keys, packages and etc as you come in and a great place to check yourself in the mirror before you go out.

Here is our new "Entrance".

I've replaced a favorite painting with a mirror and changed up the table vignette.  A pretty basket holding a pillow and throw add texture and interest under the console table.

I tried to keep it simple and classic.  (oops, yep that's my arm)

We all love a good before and after, so here is what this area has looked like.  I love this little girl painting, one of my all time favorites.  She now has a home in our bedroom and I love seeing her there.

This is a nice change and I love the classic feel and vibe.

Do you have an entrance hall or do you enter into your living room too?  How do you create the feel of an "Entrance".?

  1. Yes, love this fresh new entry decor. I especially love that mirror and the touch of repeated gold on the table. Lovely. It also makes a nice transition into Fall.

  2. Very lovely and elegant Marty! Also, very functional. I have an entry, but it`s very narrow and dark, and I have a makeover in mind soon (at least I hope). Have a great day!

  4. Marty, I admire the way you switch things around often using what's in your stash. It's really pretty!

Do you stand back in awe of the many ways you've transformed your home? It was great to start with but you've made it wonderful!

  5. Marty, love your Greek Key lamp shades. I have recently started to update and replace my outdated dramatically shaped bell lampshades and love the new drum style. Although, most are plain jane. Where did you purchase your lampshade?

  7. My house is similar in that we walk straight into the living room. I love how you have made a foyer feel using the console table and stylish accessories.

Thanks so much for sharing at TFT!
