Every Room Needs A Little Greenery

Adding plants to a room brings them to life.  I kept looking at the living room (I know I think I am becoming obsessive about this space).  It just felt like something was missing, then it dawned on me, a plant.  Something big and alive.

This isn't a really big room, so I can't use something really big.  This plant is tall and slim - perfect for this corner.
It is a Dracaena Palm.  It will get plenty of filtered light by the window, so it is a good plant for this area.

I spotted some really neat baskets at Home Goods the other day, I think a big basket will be a great base for this plant.

Now all I have to do is keep this one alive.  Do you use real or faux in your home?

  1. It's perfect Marty. I prefer real over faux, but sometimes it just depends on the amount of light a room gets.

  2. Marty, plants always add life to a room. It is perfect in the corner!

  3. Hi Marty,
I am good with plants outside not so much inside. So faux is my answer inside. I love the green and real this adds to the room. Hope it will be an easy plant to keep alive.
    Happy Weekend.

  4. The plant adds to the room, than plants always do! I prefer real.

  5. Woah! I'm really enjoying the template/theme of this website. It's simple, yet effective. A lot of times it's hard to get that "perfect balance" between superb usability and appearance. I must say you've done a awesome job with this. In addition, the blog loads super fast for me on Internet explorer. Superb Blog!

  6. I Iove using real plants in my home...always have...good thing my son lives closeby....he has been my plant sitter many, many times...Plants add such lovely texture and color to a room and they are great for a "healthy'" home...

  7. whoa this blog is great i really like reading your articles. Stay up the good work! You understand, a lot of people are hunting round for this information, you could help them greatly.

  8. Marty - the green is just what the room needed. Perhaps another plant over around your console if there is room. A croton would be a good plant for the fall for its lovely fall colors (deep green and coppers). They are even available at most groceries. Just make sure and don't overwater your plant. That is what most folks do that kill them! The orange pillow is a great pop along with the fawn pillows. This room is really shaping up and is lovely. Hope your back is better. Keep on going my friend.
