Fall Porchs & Patio Tour

Freshen up your patio for Fall with a few small changes.

Today I am thrilled to be joining a wonderful group of bloggers to share our Fall Porches & Patios.

If you are coming over from Our Southern Home, welcome.
Christy is a tough act to follow - her home is stunning and one of my all time favorites.  Make sure you see her full home tour if you haven't, there is so much wonderful inspiration in her home.

We don't really have a porch, just a sort of stoop, so I thought I would share our Patio.  This is where we spend a ton of our time.  Living in the desert means you take every moment you can to be outdoors.  Fall is such a perfect season to spend outside - all those 100+ temps are gone and we will have temps in the 70's for the next several months.  It couldn't be better outdoor weather.

This summer we added the curtains to the side of the patio to give us some shade.  This also created the effect of an outdoor room that we love.  (Bonus is the curtains also block the neighbors house next door.)

For fall I chose to use some orange to compliment the flowers in the yard and around the pool.  Things are blooming like crazy with the recent rain and cool temperatures.

This wicker arm chair is where I love to sit and have morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.  I can see the pool and enjoy all the flowers, hear the birds and smell the fresh air.

This is my view from the wicker chair.  I spent all summer in the pool, my favorite place and such a luxury.  I know I am really Blessed.

We love to entertain here, just the perfect place to enjoy friends and family.

Next on the tour is Poofing The Pillows.  Stacey has a brand new home that they just built and it is GORGEOUS.  They've done a ton to the inside to add their touch and this summer they've really been adding to their landscaping.  I can't wait to see how the porch looks all dressed for fall.

Thanks to Amber @ Follow The Yellow Brick Home for organizing this tour and inviting me to be a part of it.  I always enjoy all of her tours.

Be sure to check out all the participants.  I am sure you will find tons of inspiration for your own porch or patio.

  7. Marty,
Your patio is such an inviting spot all year. The outdoor curtains were such a good idea for both light control and privacy. Fall is truly arriving this week in Texas. We are in the midst of heavy rains, and the temperatures are going down, down, down to the low 50s for highs during the day later this week. Straight from 80s, a couple of 70s, then the 50s. Wow, where did Fall go?

    Happy Fall,

    Judith

  10. How lovely to sit by or in the pool all summer - a luxury in the desert heat.

I like how you added the curtains, that really makes a different to block out the sun at certain times of day.

  11. Marty, just as I anticipated, your space is very smart and chic. I don't think I've ever seen this space, at least not from this angle, just the pool area. Those curtains are such a great idea, and your comments of how you enjoy using this space just to have coffee or other drink and absorb all the sights and sounds is absolutely what I consider heaven. That, and the pool during those 100 degree days, of course! Beautiful, and I love your color combination of the black with neutrals, pops of orange.

  12. Marty your outdoor "room" is so inviting! I've always loved the addition of curtains. Do your neighbors come over all the time just to sit with you? I think that would be so fun just to sit and chat with you. Enjoy your fall season!

  17. Hey Marty! I love your back porch - it looks like the perfect place to relax after a long day! I love the pillows - they give a nice fall pop of color to everything. Your table centerpiece is so pretty! And if I had a pool like yours, I'd spend all summer in it too! So happy to be on this tour with you!

  18. Oh Marty, I LOOOOVE your patio!!! The addition of the curtains is fabulous! Is there a roof over it or is that an awning or what? I have been wanting SO bad to cover our patio as it is TOO hot to sit out there all summer. LOVE that wicker chair too, would love to find one like that! Thanks for the tour. I will go visit the others. Have a beautiful week!

  19. What a cozy spot you have created with the addition of the curtains to your patio. It makes your space see so private, and your view, perfect! The fall centerpiece on the table is just right for the season along with the oversized acorns. I can see why you enjoy mornings in this lovely spot!

  20. Oh I love this space+ Actually have dreamed of converting that back porch and patio area I shared on the tour into a covered patio since I have to stay out of the sun. I am loving your pillow color combo! It hints at Halloween but works well for general October decor. The simple acorns and fall arrangement on the styled tray is so pretty too. I also love the neutral checked throw. Everything is gorgeous as always! Thanks so much for joining the tours Marty!
