Thinking Ahead & Planning Christmas

Thinking Ahead & Planning Christmas.  If you’ve been to most any shop in town, you will find that they are all beginning to be loaded with Christmas.  If you want to add something new to your Christmas, you have to look now or it will probably be gone by the time Christmas rolls around.  I always like to look back at a few past Christmas decorations to get inspired for this year.  Sometimes I do a similar repeat, and other times I mix different ideas together or start from scratch and create something totally different.

Looking at the past – here are a few pictures from past Christmases.

2021 Christmas Home Tour.

I didn’t use a lot of color this year.  I went with cream, chocolate and copper.   I used the smaller flocked tree instead of the green one.

2020 Christmas Home Tour.

This was a hard year for me.  Jim had just passed away a few months earlier, so I poured all my energy into loading the tree with all the ornaments.  My younger son helped me set up the 9′ tree and I just hung every ornament I had on it.

2019 Christmas Home Tour

Cream, rust, and copper were the main colors this year.  I kept most of the color neutral.

2018 Christmas Home Tour

Jim loved Christmas, so he wanted a taller tree since we have two-story ceilings in the living room.  We got this 9 ft. one and he still placed it on a small box to make it even taller.  Rust Satin and Rust Plaid ribbon and plaid pillows were prominent this year.

2017 Christmas Home Tour

This was our first year in this house and we were still in the middle of remodels.   Green, silver and gold were my colors.

Not sure what color I want to use this year.  I do like the flocked tree.  It’s smaller and easier for me to put up and it shows off the ornaments better, so I think I’ll use that again.  Now to visit all the stores and see what catches my eye.  Do you like to plan out your Christmas too?
