Memorial Day – Remembering Loved Ones

Memorial Day – Remembering Loved Ones and honoring all those we have lost.  While we honor and remember “ALL”, there is one special person I am remembering most today, my husband Jim Oravetz.

This is a special time for me for another reason too.  Next week would have been our 39th Wedding Anniversary.  We were married on June 9, 1984.  Jim went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2020.  He is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

It is such a beautiful cemetery.  Every grave and all the grounds are so lovingly cared for.  I am so happy that Jim has been buried there.

For Memorial Day and Holidays, every grave is marked with a flag.  It is such a spectacular sight to see.  46,000+ flags honoring each Veteran.

I visit him a couple of times a week.  I like to make sure his flowers and flag are in place and talk to him.  I have a vase of flowers there also for my son who passed away on January 13, 2022.  We spread a few of his ashes around Jim’s headstone, I love being able to honor him and talk to him at the same time I visit Jim.

The grounds are always open to the public.  I visit them  2 to 3 times a week.  I miss them both so much.  My heart is filled with wonderful memories that make each day brighter.  I was Blessed with a very special man for my Husband and a very special man for my Son.

Happy Memorial Day – Hope your day is filled with sweet memories too.

Marty, you are not alone. We are all with you in our hearts. Jim was a handsome man then and later. You have so much to be thankful for. Maybe for your anniversary show us how you made your wedding dress again.
For all here sharing with Marty today, I have a quote I wrote “You never know when the last time will be the last time” Isn’t there someone who would love to hear your voice ? There are no ‘do overs’ in real life.

My heart is truly broken for you. Losing a loved one, especially a child is one of the hardest things to do. It is a road to hard to travel. I will keep you in prayer. God Bless. Marty

Yes, today is not only about BBQ’s and no work for three days. We must all be grateful for those brave men and women who served to give us our freedoms.
