An old fashioned Peach Cobbler that will remind you of grandma.

Ingredients
4cupspeeledsliced peaches
2cupssugardivided
1/2cupwater
8tablespoonsbutter
1 1/2cupflour
1 1/2teaspoonbaking powder
1/4teaspoonsale
1 1/2cupmilk
1teaspoonground cinnamonoptional
Instructions
Prehead oven to 350° F
1. Combine peaches and 1 cup sugar and the water in a saucepan and mix well
Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat.
2. Put the butter in a 3 quart making dish and place in oven to melt.
3. Mix remaining 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, and milk slowly to prevent clumping.
Pour mixture over melted butter, DO NOT MIX. Spoon fruit on top, gently pouring in syrup. Sprinkle top with ground cinnamon, if using. Batter will rise to top during baking.
4. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes ( until top is brown and mixtures looks solid ) Do not under bake or cobbler will be runny.
Notes
Serve warm or cold with or without ice cream or whipped cream.
