Yip-Skip, it's time to play with our dishes again thanks to Susan @ Between Naps On The Porch. Be sure to check out her blog and see one of her gorgeous tablescapes and a list of all the other participants.
My tablescape today is just a bit of whimsey. I am a huge fan of polka dots and checks, and then sunflowers just always say happy. So to me this is the perfect combination of things.

The centerpiece is my dad's old tool box that I usually have filled with these sunflowers and sitting on top of the cabinets in the laundry room. I thought they were just perfect for this table.

A couple of my white roosters and a little bird just looked happy to me too.

Some small tealights and a leaf holding a candle add a little bit of ambience.

I found these black and white polka dot plates at Fry's Grocery Store. It is always so hard to stay on track and buy groceries when they have so many pretty dishes too.
I love black and yellow, so the yellow salad plate was the perfect thing to go with this setting. Linens are a black tablecloth and white napkins tied with some yellow ribbon.

The flower bowls came from Pier One last year, the yellow salad from GW and the chargers from Penny's.

I love the graceful shape of these bowls.

The milk glass stems have a lovely grape pattern on the sides. I found them at GW last year also.

Just a fun tablescape that says cheerful and happy to me.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I really look forward to your visits.
Marty, you know how much I love any check, stripe or polka dots!! This is adorable, I love it!! I am smiling really BIG!! Makes me happy. Kathysue
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty and fresh! I just love it! I have those same stemmed glasses...there is no mark on the bottom, so that means they are Indiana milkglass. This is one of my favorites! ~Kelly
ReplyDeleteI love the black, white and yellow - SO HAPPY!! Great tablescape. Thanks for bringing Spring to us a little early :)
ReplyDeleteMarty, this is one of the most beautiful tablescapes I've ever seen...so smooth and crisp...
ReplyDeleteSunflowers are my favorite flowers and I find places to incorporate them all through my house. So, when I saw your tablescape, I instantly loved it. I too like black and yellow together. This tablescape is hands down one of my favorites.
ReplyDeleteI love this combination. I love polka dots, the black and yellow is a fun combination. Love the white bowls. I also really like the way that the centerpiece isn't in the center of the table. This is a good example of thinking "outside the box" and you know I love that!
ReplyDeleteSue

ReplyDeletePerfect table to chase away my Oregon gray. Love the yellow. I wish you could come to my house and put together a cheery tablescape!

ReplyDeleteI am in total "happiness" looking at your tablescape! This is outstanding and I think, the best one you have ever done! I love the colours, the black is so dramatic with the sunny yellow. OOOOOHHH those are perfect and I really want some! And to top everything off, sunflowers are my fav flowers! Perfect!

You have truly ministered through your tablescape today!! It is very cold and dreary/wet here in AL (again!) and my 3 children have all been sick and I have a dislocated shoulder and this gorgeous and fun and whimsical and VIBRANT tablescape is so amazingly cheerful and life-giving! Thank you !!!!

You have oh so many pretty things. I have the same silverware set - don't use it for everyday - just sometimes. Our son calls the forks "threeks" (count the tines) and our daughter called the knives, ball peen knives - silly kids (actually they are well grown adults with a good sense of humor).
ReplyDeleteLove the table - it is indeed cheery.
Hi Marty,
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your table! Your tool box too is so very special...love the sunflowers in it. Everything looks so clean and fresh, the yellow and black are indeed a great combination!
