3rd Table Top Tuesday - Spring into the Kitchen

I am so thrilled to have another Table Top Tuesday and look forward to seeing everyone that is participating. Thanks for joining the party.

I thought it was time to add a little spring to the kitchen and remove some of the fall that was hanging around. Most everything has to stay because of storage problems, but it can still be changed for a different look with just a few minor changes.

Lemons and yellow just make me think spring and summer and I just love sunflowers.

I found a new treasure, so the top of the cabinets and door decorations got a tiny change. See the tray above the door.

Isn't it just wonderful. I love the colors. I didn't realize it was so big until I got it home, so since it wouldn't fit on the counter, it fit perfectly over the door. I just had to move the needlework that I had up there.

But it fit perfectly on the other side of the kitchen above the cabinets.

I did this piece over 30 yrs. ago and I still love it.

Now for the counters. I wanted this to have some of the yellow and a little more white. The sunflowers are just so cheery, so an urn from the GW and a little TJMaxx bird were just the ticket here.

The cloche stayed. I changed out the fall foliage for a white berry ring, a sunflower and bright yellow ribbons.

The coffee grinder and wheat made it's way to this side of the counter and a couple of antique tins joined them for something a little different.

This corner got a few things changed around for a little different vignette.

Lemons have replaced the red and green apples in the rooster cloche and a sunflower on the bee skeep is just for fun. I think the egg scale is perfect for the egg tray sign.

This side of the breadbox now has an antique candy scale filled with grapes, my mom's green syrup pitcher, some wheat and a cute little rooster I just found at GW.

I found this wonderful ironstone colander last year at GW. I love the pretty raised design on it. It's great for holding fruit so you can just grab some and go.

My little chef wandered over to this side of the counter along with his champagne bottle. Another antique scale with a cheese dome sitting on top filled with grapes. ( I need to find one of those faux cheese wedges somewhere. ). The two boxes I use all the time. The bottom one holds recipes that I print off the internet or from you great bloggers and the top one holds coupons that I clip. Keeps things neat and all in one place.

You don't have to make a drastic change to have a different look. Looks like spring and sunshine to me, and that makes me happy. Look around for what you already have and change things up. It will make you smile and then when you like you can just change it again.

A reminder that the "SPRING CLOCHE PARTY" is scheduled for April 2nd. Show off your Spring, St. Patrick's Day and Easter cloches. Please be sure to take the button on my sidebar and let your friends know so everyone can join the party. I can hardly wait.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I really enjoy your visits and always look forward to them.

Be sure to link up with Mr. linky below so we can find your new Table Top Creations.

  30. Hi Marty,

Your kitchen looks beautiful ... in every season! I hope my contribution to Tablestop Tuesday is OK. I've been wanting to participate since I heard you were hosting, so I hastily put together a little mini-tablescape post (on a smallish tabletop).

I have one of those little faux cheese wedges that I've never used. I'd love to send it to you as a tiny little gift. You can let me know ...

    Kindest regards,

  49. I am amazed at all the good stuff you find at GW- ours has very little to offer. I am thrilled to see you still hang needlework- I love it!!! Enjoyed having coffee in your sunny kitchen this am. Anxious to plant sunflower seeds for the upcoming season-bought a big galvanized bucket at michael's yesterday just for that purpose-maybe you need one too-or another one.

  50. Marty, I can see you do enjoy decorating with your thigns so much! I LOVE your kitchen cabinets! Oh how I wish I had chosen a wood like that. Is it hickory? It is sure pretty and I like the darker stain in the detailing.

Well, back to my 1980's oak kitchen now! ha ha!

  53. Marty, I so wish I had cabinets where there was a corner someplace. Mine are just little two and a half foot counters on either side of my stove and on either side of my sink. I envy your pretty vignettes in that corner! I need to find some wheat. Love the texture under your paint on the walls too.

  54. Hello sweet lady...

Ohhh Marty, I just adore your kitchen! Everytime I see that beautiful brown wall color and that fabulous granite countertop on your island...I just swoon, my friend! You really do have one of the prettiest kitchens!!! Well my friend, I love all of your bright, sunny yellow splashes of color! Yes, yellow always reminds me of Spring as well...so what a perfect color to add into your Spring decor! Not to mention, how pretty the yellow is...when paired with the brown! Love the cloche on your island with that darling white rooster...he looks so pretty with the white berry garland and cheerful sunflowers!

Marty, your new rooster tray is gorgeous! Ohhh...the colors are just so vibrant and beautiful against that black background! It looks so pretty up above your door! Great treasure find, my friend! Oooh...and I love, love, LOVE your white ironstone collander...it's beautiful! I would love to find one like it!!!

Well Dearheart...I have a question for you! I just noticed for the first time, that fabulous "Tea" chest that is sitting up on your cabinet. The one that says, "Sprague, Warner, and Co". Marty its a gorgeous piece!!! Is it metal or wood? It looks like it is metal...to me. Please tell me a little about it. Is it vintage/antique and where did you find it? I'd love to know! Anyway, I know that you'll be busy with getting around to all of your party participants...I'm in no hurry!

Thank you again, for hosting this fabulous party! This is one of my favorite memes!!!

    Love ya,

  58. I've been ooohing and awwwing over everything in your kitchen. Every where you look is a little scene. I have collected some advertising cans/crates over the years myself but not put them all to use in my kitchen...as of yet. I just love the chocolate brown with your bright touches of yellow and white. It really lightens up the dark colors (which I am particularly fond of). Everything about is adorable! I'd love to sip on a cup of tea and just look around. Thanks for showing your lovely kitchen...and for hosting Table Top Tuesday!

  60. Thanks Marty for visiting my blog. I noticed that we share a cross stitch. "Daily Bread". Mine is 50 years old. I cross stitched the "Daily Bread when I was first married and made a frame for it. About 20 years ago I remounted it with a 1/2 inch mat the color of the ribbon. I am so happy to learn how to link to other blogs. And you are my first one. I love your blog and have added you to my favorite blog list.

  64. Hi Marty Sweetie...
It always looks so beautiful over here. You do such an awesome job of decorating and making things look happy and cheerful. Your decor says "Spring" all over. Love the yellow lemons in the cloche.

And I adore those egg scale and the antique scale with the cloche on top. Those I love, love, love. That egg scale is the most precious. I will be watching e-bay for one of those.

Thank you so much for sharing. Jamie and I have decided on a date, and we have made the reservations. Please see my blog. I have posted the luncheon/tea, and Jamie will posting another sometime soon. It will be fun. We hope you can make it.

Country hugs sweetie and so much love..>Sherry

  65. Marty, I just love your happy and well decorated kitchen! I see your creative cloches everywhere! Whenever I see a cloche I think of you! I love the painted tray. I collect them. The majority of my collection is in my downstairs bathroom. Hanging on the walls. They are so beautiful! My bathroom is very bohemian. Your rooster tray would be a lovely addition. Where did you find it? As usual a fabulous and inspirational post.

  71. Marty, i just looked at your pictures again, and again they made me smile- so pretty!
I wanted to tell you about the mezzaluna. If you're a erson who tends to cut herself with a knife, a mezzaluna is WONDERFUL! (ask me how I know). Since both your hands are on the handles, it's almost impossible to cut YOURSELF. Takes a little practice to get fast with it, but I find it safer and actually let my kids use it before a knife
    Great week for your meme!
