
My front porch was in very sad shape. This is what the poor rockers looked like. They really need refinishing.

Restained and looking so much better. See the white chinese garden stool. That's the famous one from Big Lots. It needs painting too, and the poor dead plants replaced.

This is what I used to transform the chinese stool.

First it got two different colors of green.

Then a little stain was sponged on for character. I finished it with 2 coats of Clear Gloss.

Ta-DA!!! New front porch. Much better.

The wreath got a little redo too.

Some pillows and a new fern, now this looks inviting.

Of course a little critter had to be added.

The stool is just the perfect size for a couple of glasses of iced tea.



Since we live in Arizona, of course we have desert landscaping, but the porch still looks inviting.

Marty, your front entry and porch just beg you to come on over and have a seat or to come on in. Aren't you the artistic one with the color and staining of the chinese stool. Everything looks so good. I think we need to move to Arizona so I can quit having grass to deal with.

At first I wondered about the 2 greens on the stool, but when I saw the pillows and the front door and all the pots , I see how beautifully it all goes together. The green and aqua is refreshing.

I look out the window while I was working and I thought the pear flower petals were falling from the tree but it ended up being snow!!!

Thanks for the lovely reminder that here, too, we'll soon be out on the porch. I really like the painted Chinese stool. The colors are cool and relaxing. We live near the town square and, in warm weather, many people stroll by and some stop to chat making front porch living very nice.

ReplyDeleteOh how I love the porch re-do!!!It is so warm and inviting!!!Even if it gets to 110 degrees, you can still set out as it is so dry here!!!!it is warm, but drink a glass of tall Iced tea, and you are good to go!!!
