The Miracle Is Complete-Believe

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * BE NOT AFRAID * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

I originally did this post on May 13, 2009, but with Easter and Graduations here, I thought this was a perfect time to post it again.  I hope all of you will rejoice in all of the Lord's Blessings and Believe that He does perform Miracles everyday.

Sometimes it's hard to remember that the Lord is always in control and He knows the beginning and the end. It's also hard to believe that an event that is your worst nightmare can also be your biggest blessing. Let me explain these comments.

Two years ago this July my oldest grandson was in a horrific auto accident and was ejected. He suffered a very serious Traumatic Brain Injuury. He was in a coma for several weeks on total life support. His left arm was badly broken, but he was so unstable they couldn't do surgery and it was agreed that life was more important than limb and if they had to amputate that was ok. His prognosis was grim at best if he made it at all. Each time the doctors gave us a deadline of things that he had to be able to do, the Lord met that deadline one day before, starting with breathing on his own as the first milestone. Gaining conscienceness, learning to swallow, talking, sitting up, standing, learning to walk again - all of these were miracle milestones. You see the accident had shirred his brain and they didn't think he would be able to do any of these things. We had hundreds of people praying all over the world and the Lord was so faithful to answer every prayer.

My grandson's name is Keith. At the time of the accident he was just a few classes away from graduating from ASU. This wasn't going to be a cake walk because he still had some of his toughest classes to finish such as advanced courses in Physics and Nuclear Technology. The doctors didn't think he would be able to resume his studies. He spent several months in the hospital in rehab and then several months at Barrows Institute for more rehab. Every day he became more whole. They were able to do the surgery on his arm a few weeks after the accident and put in a 9" rod from the shoulder down to the elbow. He has worked very hard and has full strength and use of this arm with no signs of the injury except where you can see the scars where the screws were put in.

Why I say the miracle is complete is because tonight he will graduate from ASU with his Engieering Degree with his major being in Nuclear Physics. Wednesday night he sat with all of the ASU students as President Obama delivered the Commencement Address. The Lord completed his healing several months ago, but for some reason seeing him walk across the stage and receive his diploma will be the period to the sentence to me. He has a couple of scars on the back of his head and that's all there is to see that he was ever in an accident. He is completely healed with no signs of ever having any kind of brain injury at all. His doctors openly admit that he is a miracle. People that meet him today really can't believe he ever had a brain injury. He is just exactly the person he was before, no bodily scars, no side effects, no signs at all that anything ever happened. When the Lord healed him, He healed him 100% in every way.

So when I say one event can be your worst nightmare and your biggest blessing, his healing and graduation is such a blessing. It is the Lord's way of showing the world He was in control all along, and that He still does miracles every day.

Keith believes the Lord saved him for a purpose, and often wonders what it is the Lord has in store for him. I can't wait to see the rest of the Lords plan and His many more blesssings He has yet to reveal.

This is a pictue of Keith at his Birthday Party a couple of weeks ago. His face got really red as all the waiters and patrons at the restaurant sang to him.

  Waiting his turn to walk up on the stage and receive his diploma.  Thank you Lord.

We are BELIEVING for another Miracle as another of my grandsons marries his special gift from heaven tomorrow.  She has MD and is confined to a wheelchair.   The Lord has a plan for these two also.

Thank you for listening to my story.  I wish you all a Very Blessed Easter and sincerely pray the Lord completes all of your Miracles in His perfect timing.  I will be gone for a few days to spend time with family and rejoice in my grandson's wedding.  (Oh yeah, I finally found a dress.  I'm wearing pink.)

  16. Marty, what a beautiful story of the Lord's hand on your precious grandson. It is truly a miracle, but then again God is in the Miracle business. I also cry for a friend of ours who was thrown from a motorcycle almost three ago. She is in a nursing home and totally disabled. Her sweet husband stays with her every day after work, and talks with her as if she could respond. The reason I share this, is because before the accident Kathy told the Lord that she would do whatever HE needed her to do. It has built the faith of many in her family. And although it is such a sad situation, God is still in the Miracle business. Have a blessed Easter.

  17. Thank you for sharing the story of your grandson. I am so very happy for him! My second son had a spinal cord injury in 1998 at the age of 14. He has lived life very well in a power wheel chair. In rehab, we met several other teens who had traumatic brain injuries. None have had the results your grandson had. Truly, God has a purpose for him. God bless your family. Blogless Peggy

  29. What a great post and it came at a time when I really needed to hear it. I love that you said "through tragedies come the biggest blessings." How true that is, and I am learning about it everyday. On Jan 29 my husband woke up, got dressed and said, "I'm done." He moved 7 hours away to be with his girlfriend. We were completely blindsided..COMPLETELY. He has not sent us a dime in support and he has a very large salary I was never employed. I was/am a SAHM. Now we are penniless. Not only is he not sending us any money, he took all of the money from our bank account and he emptied our money market accounts. We are living at below poverty. We get our food from the Food Pantry, and yesterday we received our Food Stamps. My children are insured by Medicaid. At first I focused on on the how horrible this all was, and it still is, but finally I put my faith in God and started to keep a Gratitude Journal and you will not believe how blessed we really are. Out of this tragedy we have been so blessed. I do not know what tomorrow holds. I do not know if I will have enough gas in my car to get to my job interview, but God knows and he is blessing us all the way.

    I am so thankful that God has blessed you and your family the way that He has, and I am glad that your Grandson is so blessed.

    Thanks for your very inspirational post today!

Me fascina su blog, ya que yo tengo afinadad por lo rustico, además de creer fielmente en la palabra de Dios, y sé que hace milagros maravillos por todo el mundo, siempre que creamos en él y oremos todos los días.
