Low Fat Sirloin and Broccoli

I am hunting for more and more ways to serve a meal that is low carb and low fat.  I have a dish that we like and I thought you might like it too.

Sirloin, Broccoli and Onion - with soy sauce and garlic.

I started with a sirloin steak marinated in soy sauce and lemon juice over night to tenderize the steak.  Then I sliced it and some onions and broccoli.

Salt, Pepper and a drizzle of Garlic Olive Oil on everything.

This is a one pan dish.  Add a little olive oil to a pan, turn heat on med-high and then add all the meat, tossing and cooking till med-rare.

Remove from pan and place on a dish  while the rest of the ingredients cook.

In the same pan, add the onions and cook and stir until they just begin to carmelize.  Remove to same dish as meat.

Turn the heat down, add a little water to the pan, then all the broccoli and cover to steam until tender.

When done add the meat and onion back into the pot and warm through.

Place a generous amount on each plate and serve with a side of salad.  I like to sprinkle a little soy sauce on mine for some extra flavor.

Low fat, low calorie and good .  We love it, hope you will try it.

  4. Hi Marty,
Please forgive me for being absent lately. Your dish looks delicious!
I used to make something similar but marinating it all night sounds wonderful. So..I am going to make this for our Sunday dinner. Thanks so much.

  6. Oh Marty, I can smell that cooking now! YUM! Looks really good. Thanks for sharing. On a different note...what is the name of your granite? I've been looking at granites for the past two days for my sister in law. As you know they can take on a different look from slab to slab. Yours is so pretty.

I think I will try that tonight, I am needing some of those recipes too.
I like the marinating part for more flavor, but I don't know where to find garlic olive oil. Our groceries around here are so limited.
My son said you were 113 yesterday...yikes stay cool! Although it was in the 90's here.
Hugs friend and Happy Sunday too,
