Kitchen After Christmas

It seems like everything looks so plain when all the glitter and color of Christmas is gone, so I decided to leave some of the red in the kitchen and familyroom.  Just looks so cheery right now.

The topiary and scale stayed from Christmas.  Just a little french chef and Mr. Roo is all I added.

The wheat and scale stayed from the Christmas display in this corner too.  I added my favorite rooster cloche and my sassy pig.

The little cow figurine goes with my little couple in the cloche.

I call these my little French farmers.  He's holding a basket of grapes.

I love this silly pig, he is just so dirty and so cute.

Nice and clean and ready for the New Year.

So, how are you coming with cleaning up Christmas and getting back to normal?

  1. Marty:

Love your vignette on your island especially the cute chef!

I always feel that things look a little scarce once the holiday decor is put away! So I usually add some new things in home or switch things around from other rooms!

    Have a great week!

  3. Hi Marty! Great after Christmas tweaking. Although I am always sad about taking all the holiday stuff down,I also always feel it is such a relaxing, peaceful time in the house. A fun time to rearrange & rediscover the everyday objects I love. Jane

  5. It always looks so naked after the deChristmassing doesn't it? I played around and came up with a colour scheme of reds, faded greens, chocolate and creamy white. Come on over and take a peek...

  13. Beautiful vignettes, as always, Marty! I love the splashes of red and the goodies you added on top of your scales. I have a matching Mr. Roo ... now, if I could only find where I hid him for the holidays! LOL

  14. That's it! I have just got to get me a decorative rooster. I've seen them for years now and I love them...gotta get me one. I love your vignette. I too hate to see the "plainess" when Christmas is gone. Have a great evening.

  21. Everything looks good, Marty! Love your farm couple. I have some blank spaces that I'm trying to look at as an opportunity to do something different from my norm. Some blank spaces are because I can't find the regular decor that was "safely" put away for Christmas. Since I'm trying to use what I have already, it is taking me a little while to pull things together that will work.

Your kitchen looks so clean and ready for the new year. :) I left some pops of red from my Christmas decor in my home too. I just love red so much!

  25. I love your kitchen and I love roosters. I have quite a few of them in my kitchen. I recently found some inexpensive curtains with roosters on them too. It may be just a bit overdone, but they brighten up the room.
Christmas has been relegated to the basement here. There it sits just waiting to be packed up for another year.

  31. Your kitchen always looks so charming, Marty! I like keeping some red in my decor after Christmas and usually through Valentine's Day. Then the Spring things can come out.

We are going to get a few days of real winter it seems, unless the "weather guessers" are totally off! We've got everything covered and wrapped -- hope it's enough! Stay warm!
