Country French - Farmhouse Inspired

I love the look of anything Country French or Farmhouse style.  It just seems warm and inviting.  I love the mix of rustic, with copper and brass aged to perfection.  Everything is very ecclectic, however it all works together.

When I think of France, I think of tables filled with good wine, grapes, bread and cheese arranged in a tray with grain sack linens.  Or let's pretend we are in the countryside and have a fabulous view of the grape orchard and fields beyond.



Of course there is a fabulous french chef somewhere offering good food and a toast.  I love this little guy, so cute.  I also found a huge pasta bowl with his picture in the middle.  You can see that post here.


An antique brass scale filled with grapes.  One of my favorite pieces. I used it in vignettes all the time, so perfect for tons of things.  You can see some of those  here and here.


Sunflowers, croissants and cheese.  Perfect for a country side snack on the veranda.


Soft, worn and loved grainsack linens.


Great wine in an antique bottle carrier is easy to transport to any destination.


Good food, good wine, good company.  What could be better than that.

  1. Marty when we went to Paris, Our favorite dinners were at a big table with a tray of fruit, cheese and wonderful French bread and wine. It is the best!!! No one does it quite like the FRENCH!

  24. I absolutely love your tablescapes. I always considered myself vignette challenged as I would have to do and redo so many times & items I had thought would be perfect just weren't. I have only recently learned that this is actually pretty normal. Knowing it has given me the courage to start playing with displays all the time. I want to thank you as you are one of my teachers. I am always excited to see your posts to see what I can learn and try today. Once I decide on the look I hunt for height and texture first. I'm a collector (hoarder) of many things so I always shop my stuff. Anyway, don't mean to ramble. Just wanted to thank you for your inspiration and compliment your talent.
