Country French Rustic Fall

It is still l05 to ll0 here, so fall decor just looks so pretty but so "warm", so I am starting with a little bit of fall that looks "cool" to me.  Silver looks "icy", so let's go for that kind of "cool".

I still want a little bit of a country french look to the living/dining, so I am using the check, plants in clay pots and a concrete pedestal mixed with the silver.  I love the look of all the different textures.

Add in a little velvet and glitz and we have a winner.

The tall acorn is a new piece I've added this year.  Love it's grand size.

There it is, my little bit of country french rustic fall.

Update, I just found this gourd today, so of course I had to add it to the mix.  Love it.  Perfect finishing touch don't you think?

So are you changing up fall a little this year, or are you going with the traditional colors?

  9. Looks great Marty! Love the little glitzy pumpkin, I've never seen an acorn that big before. It makes quite a statement.
The temp here today got to 99 degrees so it's very hard for me to even think about decorating for Fall. By the time it cools off, we're almost at Christmas.

  10. It just barely cooled off here in VA. I can hardly think of climbing up to the storage shelves for my fall decor box. Just barely....but maybe in a few days.

We had high 990s last week and then a huge 2 day storm went by and brought us BEAUTIFUL weather- and we never hardly EVER have nice weather.

I almost hate to be indoors now, but of course I am all day working - dang - but soon am inspired to get out my autumn things, been putting it off till it got cooler, so soon very soon.

    Hugs.

  27. You do the nicest vignettes Marty! A feast for the eyes. I love the velvety pumpkin!!! It's a little bit chilly here in my neck of the woods so with the briskness outside and your pretty pictures I feel like maybe Fall is right around the corner!

  28. Such pretty decor. You're right, it is hard to think about fall when the temp is in the 100s! I am thankful that it's cooling down where I am so I can feel more in the fall spirit.

  29. Enjoy your beautiful, fall creation, Marty and keep thinking cool!

  30. You have a wonderful eye for creating always charming vignettes, and this is no exception. It looks very well thought-out. And,like your other readers, I really am very fond of the velvet pumpkin. Henry David Thoreau might have rewritten his famous quote if he had seen yours.

“I would rather sit on a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than be crowded on a velvet cushion.”

Your textures and the checked runner are the perfect balance. Love this centerpiece and we are just now in the middle 90's here. Have a cooler week!

  51. I'm trying to keep things pretty muted. I love the shiny. I don't have much shiny. But I am using metallics- Champagnes and Golds. Mostly a lot of earthy hues and warmer/rusty versions of colors already in our decor. Your collection is beautiful, the different textures really feel like Fall.
