Before & After Chair Makeover

I love a good before and after don't you?  See that wicker chair in this picture - - I could probably find a much better chair for this room, however, I like this one and the casual air it gives the room.

This is the fabric that has been on it for about 15 years, not bad, just more gold tone than I would like.

I thought it was time for an update and a new fabric that compliments the check drapes and the rest of the furniture in the room.  Love this fabric and it has just the right shade of oatmeal and brown to tie everything together.

Here's the Before again - - -

Ta- Da -----Huge difference huh?

This chair has never had a back cushion even when I bought it.  I just always used a throw pillow.

I decided to make a regular back cushion and give it more of a club chair look, plus it will be even more comfy and squishy to sit on.

I love it.  Should have done this years ago.

Before one more time.

And Now.    The back cushion totally changes the style of the chair.  I love it.

So, what do you think?  It amazes me that something as simple as a cushion can so totally change a chair.

  18. I love the use of a piece of wicker and/or iron -- something organic in a room of upholstered and wood furniture. It keeps the mix looking fresh. Your choice of fabric is spot-on! I think you will continue to enjoy this chair, now.

  47. Marty, do you recall the name of the company that manufactured your wicker chair? I just love it! How much better to be able to recover a few cushions to get a new look than to reupholster a whole chair!
