How To Brighten Up A Corner & Shopping

I think every home has a spot some where that is a little dark.  I have one of those places in my living room.  Now I know part of the problem is that I have 2 leather chairs and they help create a dark spot, especially since the sofa and occasional chair are both white/cream.  I found these chairs for $100 each at a consignment store a few years ago and I was so thrilled to find Ethan Allen real leather and for such a great price that I bought both of them.  I love them, but since I don't have any place to use them except the living room, I find that I am constantly trying to bring a little light and bright to that area where they are.  I found a great solution I think.

I love garden stools and have several, so when I saw this fabulous white leaf design one at Marshalls for $39.95, of course it just jumped in my cart.

Isn't the design pretty.  The leaves are more raised that this picture shows, it is really very pretty in person.  Tons of personality.

Now a white throw and a white garden stool give this corner new life, it isn't dark at all.  Love it.

While I was out shopping, I stopped in Lamps Plus looking for lamps, didn't find what I was looking for, but I did find a fabulous mirror that I had to have.  I think this is going to work great for my latest project I am working on.

So have you been shopping and finding super fabulous treasure too?

  6. Very pretty, Marty! I love that throw. I always keep a throw out even in the summer months because sometimes the a/c gets a little too cold. That was a great find on those chairs, too.

  7. I love the softness of leather but I always wondered how to make it fit in with my decor. I think you've done a wonderful job by adding texture and "visual" warmth to the chairs., You are good !!!
