Our New House - Spring Tour

If you are new to my blog welcome.  A little background - we received the keys to our new home on Dec. 17,2016.  During these last three months with trying to get settled, we also jumped right in and two weeks after moving in started the remodel of our downstairs and kitchen.   We feel like we have made some major improvements to our "Builder Basic", but still have a lot to do.  I am so excited to show you the progress we've made so far.

So WELCOME, let me show you around.

Soaring ceilings and huge windows are some of my favorite features of this home.

I just love how the light dances off the furniture, always so pretty.  For Spring I went with a really neutral color scheme.  As you can see we get tons of light in our new home and I love the simple neutral monochromatic flow from one room to the next.

Simple soft gold tones with cream add just the right touch of color for spring.

I continued the simple gold and cream theme in the dining area also.

I think the huge bouquet of tulips is all the table really needed.

Let's turn around and see the view from the front windows.  The stair case leads to the loft and upstairs bedrooms.  The arched doorway below leads us into the kitchen/breakfast area and family room.  The door on the left is a small powder room.
New floors and a new faucet is all this little powder room  has received in the way of remodeling so far, but I do have tons of ideas for this space.

There is a big closet under the stairs that I knew would be my "Dish Room" the minute I saw it.  Right next to the kitchen and plenty of room to store my dish hoard and some linens too.

Now let's take a look at the kitchen.  This has been our main area of concentration so far.  We have totally redone this space from top to bottom.

This is what it looked like when we bought it.

To see the details of the full renovation - click here.  We saved a ton of money by keeping some of the cabinets, rearranging a few and adding a few new ones.  New paint, counters, appliances and floors  and we had a major remodel.

One of my favorite things is this fabulous walk in pantry next to the fridge.

  This is a dream.

We are definitely loving our new kitchen.

The entire back of the house is breakfast area, kitchen and family room.  I love having all these areas open to each other.

The kitchen is in the center with the breakfast area on the east side.  My famhouse table fits perfectly in this space.  Plenty of room for 8 if needed.

This area has two huge windows so wall space is at a premium,  but I had to find a spot that would hold my "Old Man Praying - Giving Thanks"  I love this painting.

I kept the table really simple with mainly white and gold to coordinate with the kitchen.

The west side of the kitchen is the family room -

This is definitely a work in progress.  More to come later.

Let's continue upstairs - --

At the top of the stairs is a huge landing and the loft area.

I have claimed this spot as the "Girl Cave".  This is also where I put my office.  Again just some cream and a little greenery and it looks fresh for Spring.

A small settee and chair provide a great place to sit and read, watch tv or just relax.

The gateleg table works great as my desk.  Nice to have a spot where I can get my work done.  I borrowed a small bookcase from my hubby's office to keep a few of my daily needs - calendar, camera, stapler and etc at easy reach.

Our big entertainment center in across from the settee, it has plenty of bookcase and storage for all my office needs, plus it houses the tv so I can watch some of  my favorite shows.

The arched door on the left of the landing is our Master Bedroom. (The hall bathroom and two other bedrooms are a work in progress)

Our master is a good size room and also has a huge window that lets in tons of light like the rest of the house.

One of the big bonuses of this house is two closets in the master.  I claimed the walk-in as "hers".

Of course I had to glitz it up a little  (not as much as my last closet, but give me time, this may get the royal treatment too).

I love that it has a ton of shelves on both sides.  The right side has 10 shelves for shoes.  I did share some of this space with hubby for his dress shoes.  See I am a nice girl.

I used this center area as my primping station.  Perfect spot for a mirror, some jewelry and to display a few of my evening bags.

The master bath has been going through a remodel too.  New floors, lights, counter, sink, faucet and accessories.  I still need to paint the vanity so that is next on my list.

I kept the accessories to mostly black and gold to compliment the gorgeous granite.

These beautiful new floors look like wood but are 100% waterproof.  Such a fabulous product.

Thanks for the visit and if you would like to see the "Builder Basic" when we bought it you can see that here, and you can see the kitchen and bathroom remodels hereherehere and here.
