Welcome to the 65th Table Top Tuesday!!!! I can't wait to see what all you guys have been up to, so just link up and let's have a party.
This is the end table that is by my chair, and I don't know why it always gives me such a hard time. It is a gate-leg drop leaf table, and I love the size, but the half round shape is hard to accessorize, and then the base of the rooster lamp is so big, and - - - well, you get the idea. I just have a mental block with this table.
I love this little Honey Bunch antique book, she is just so cute, so I paired it with my heirloom doorknob off of the house I was born in, then added a little ivy and flower.
Isn't this book just wonderful. I love the cover.
I love my rooster also, but it does have a really big base. I like things grouped together and it's hard to group anything close to him.
I always keep this placemat on the table, that way I can put all my snacks down and not worry about the surface of the table. I also love this antique childs plate. See the animals between the letters. Do you see the "C"-cat, "D"-dog and etc. Isn't that cute.
Ok, but just a little country, so maybe try something else.
How about some simple flowers.
A brass planter, some tulips and a cork apple.
Love this apple, and I have the matching pear. So different.
A couple of magazine that I want to read again for the billionth time and that's it.
Maybe a brass apple instead.
Ok, what would you put on this table. I need suggestions!!!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by, I always appreciate your visits and can't wait to see your gorgeous vignettes.
WOW! This is the first time I've been first at a (link) party!! lol Gotta come back later to see inspirational posts!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your antique childs plate Marty! Thanks for hosting!!
xo Lynda
Love all the variations Marty. :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat about putting a short stack of favorite books under your lamp, although it's hard to tell how tall the lamp is it looks like it wouldn't hurt to raise it a few inches. Then try some of your accessories.
Candy
How adorable is that book! I love old children's books.
ReplyDeleteHummmm...I don't know but, I really like the little book a lot. I think she needs to be on the table. And I like the plate. Of course I like to use the different pretty plates I find as a coaster. I switch them out all the time. Maybe a small cloche on some old books over on this table?
ReplyDeleteHi Marty...
ReplyDeleteMy friend, you have such a talent for creating such pretty vignettes!!! I really do love all three vignettes! You could use all three...just keep changing it out! Hehe! Marty, that vintage book is just awesome and the picture on the cover is sooo adorable! What a great idea...to pair the vintage book with your door knob...love that! Well dear friend, thank you for another inspirational post! You always have the best ideas and I have learned so much from you! Also...thank you for hosting another fabulous TTT party! So happy that I could join in this week (although it's a repost)!
Have a wonderful week, dear friend!
Chari
Hi Marty
ReplyDeleteAll your vignette ideas are great. I like the book. Perhaps, put it, on the stand, atop 2 or three other old books. In front I'd place one of your pretty plates or a shallow bowl. I love the rooster lamp.
Thanks for hosting.
You're the Queen of Vignettes and you're asking us what we think??
ReplyDeleteI love all your ideas! I am in love with that rooster lamp! He definitely takes center stage! I like both the apples and the flowers in the brass pot. I guess I would alternate them because I like them both. Love the little book, the plate and the doorknob too. I'm no help; sorry! Thanks for hosting and enjoy your week.
Blessings,
Sandi
Hi Marty, I like the book look but anything that makes you happy is what you should do. Thanks bunches for hosting. hugs♥O
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting, Marty! I love your rooster lamp and I don't think it looks too big for the table. Love the flowers. I always like either flowers or greenery in a room.
ReplyDeleteAll of your vignettes are gorgeous. Really anything you do will be outstanding. I love the children's book. And that cork apple is darling. The table next to my chair gives me fits simply because, I put eveything there, the remote, magazines, my diet coke, a munchie. . . whatever I am working on goes on the table. So, I keep the vignette very simple. Thank you for hosting your weekly Table-Top Tuesday. I so love linking up with you and seeing what everyone is doing. I will link later this evening. My vignette is not ready. Have a wonderful evening. Hugs, Karie
ReplyDeleteI don't know about the table...but that plate is just too darn cute. I just adore anything with the alphabet or words on it.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the table. I always struggle with tables. Either it is too much or too little!!
What a cute plate and book. Cute cover and I think your vignette looks just fine. Thanks for hosting, Marty.
ReplyDeleteMarty you always put together such lovely vignettes! I really like the way it looks in the last 2 pics, and I love your rooster lamp!! Thanks for hosting, Martina
ReplyDeleteWell I personaly love it anyway you fix it...but it's just so obvious that the rooster lamp is just a problem for you so let me just send you my address and I'll take it off your hands...after all it's my duty as a friend to do whatever I can to help you out! lol But seriously you just can't make a bad vignette with your pretty treasures...it's just a curse you'll have to live with! lol Have a great week sweetie...Picket
ReplyDeleteMarty! Every time I visit your blog I find a new decorating idea! I have a rooster lamp that needs some fixing up! I love the color of your lamp! I also have a apple like that only red. I may paint my rooster lamp a bright red to match my apple! I have to find a red Gingham shade to match my kitchen!
ReplyDeleteYour vignette is beautiful! I hope you don't mind me borrowing your idea!
I couldn't pick if I had to!! WOW!! I do love that book. The flowers are lovely, too. Whatever you pick will be splendid! You are the queen of vignettes!
ReplyDeleteI would put a small cloche (after all it is Marty's house) with something that relates to the rooster in it, and sit it on the book. Maybe put the apple (cork) and pear on its side in front of the cloche. No flowers. You did really want us to answer didn't you? I actually like the second look the best, but I love old kid's books so I would put that in there somehow.
ReplyDeleteWhatever I start with my table usually ends up with piles of books and magazines! Ha! You sure have lots of nice options. Thanks Marty!
ReplyDeleteI love that darling book and the graphics. I think it is great for display.
ReplyDeleteHey Babe! I'll be right over and we can play together!!!!
ReplyDelete:) (I wish!)
HUGS! Karen
Marty, thanks for letting me join in on the fun, I have a very similar lamp, only I mine has a red and white toile shade. Have a wonderful week, tami
ReplyDeleteOh Marty!
ReplyDeleteThat little book is my favorite. How sweet is that! And the ABC dish is a perfect match. The rooster lamp goes with any of it too.

Hi Marty! I love your Honey Bunch book!! My post is not really a table top, it's a chair top. Just didn't want to miss your party. Hope that's okay!! Thanks for hosting.

Stunning tablescape Marty! Your vignettes are gorgeous as always!:)
ReplyDeleteHere, 'am addind a link which is against 'PLAGIARISM'...yes, you read it right!!
I'm your fan, follower and a regular participant in TTT for a while now....and also a victim of Plagiarism too. I know this is a fun party and we are here to spread
positivity and cheer...but it is also true that these sort of ongoing cybercrimes are effecting a number of talented bloggers. It's very sad that even watermarking can't protect our pictures completely! Hence, I've added this post here for a larger attention! Please, feel free to remove the link if you wish, I will not mind.
Thanks and hugs!

Oh boy, Marty...I'm the last person to try to give YOU advice on how to decorate! LOL I think it looks great just the way it is!
ReplyDeleteI love all the little items that have such special meaning for you. Who would have thought to save the doorknob from their childhood home??? Wish I'd thought of that Years ago!
Hugs,
Rett

ReplyDeleteCan't pick just one -- love them all!
ReplyDeleteI like them all Marty! I really love your wonderful book! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteAll are so lovely. I think my favorite is the one with the little organic apple and the yellow flowers.
ReplyDeleteI do like the idea of including that sweet book in a vignette. I have been finding some adorable vintage books while thrifting lately. I need to figure a way to incorporate them in a vignette. I like the way you incorporated your book. Thanks for that idea!
Tammy
The table is beautiful and the little plate is darling.

I really like all your goodies. It's hard to choose a favorite thing, but those fruits are truly unique -- looks like they took a LOT of patience. The plate, and especially the doorknob -- and I am always a sucker for old books. Really neat stuff!

ReplyDeleteI love this little table setting, cutest little book and that apple is amazing!
ReplyDeleteEach addition made the tabletop a little better. Not bad the way it is, but it you wanted more, how about a stack of vintage books?
ReplyDeleteHI Marty~ I like the picture w/ the rooster, yellow plant and pear w/ magazine. Thanks for another great link up. The post with the bird bath cookies from enchanted oven...wow!

Oh Marty, you are so good in creating vignettes and I love all of them, especially the one with the cork apple and yellow tulips... I love the texture of the cork apple against the yellow color. And the vintage book with the door knob looks gorgeous paired together. Thank you so much for your beautiful comment. I always look forward to them. Have a great week!~Poppy

Such a pretty vignette! I love the childrens book! Thank you for visiting my blog and for leaving a sweet comment! Thank you also for hosting TableTop Tuesday!! Hope your day is Plum Perfect! (hugs)
ReplyDeleteMarty,
ReplyDeleteYou have such a lovely home and your eye for decor is stunning. My thought was...what if you turned the table so that the flat back is against the wall and the rounded side out. More space across the back for your vignettes!!! Just a thought! Thanks for sharing all the choices with us. My favorite was the textured apple at the base of the lamp! Thanks for hosting this inspiring meme!!!
Fondly,
Pat
