I am still sorting through all my accessories and eleminating some and trying to use forgotten and packed away treasures. One day my guest bedroom will be done in an equestrian theme and I have a few things that will be used in there, but that's still a ways off.
In the meantime there are a couple of things I want to work into my decor, so I redid one little part of this entertainment center. This is what I created the last time I redid the shelves.
The right side bookcase looked like this. Love it, but I want to add something.
Can you see what I added.
Now I really love it.
If you rediscover a treasure or find a new one, you don't always have to redo everything, just make a few changes and you can enjoy your discovery.
Thanks so much for stopping by, I always look forward to your visits.
Yes, I think the hat and magnifying glass add some character. An equestrian theme is on the way...and I have always loved the boy and horse painting. Those are really beautiful bookcases.
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see your beautiful bookcase/entertainment center I swoon. It would be so perfect in our little library.

Isn't that what makes feathering the nest fun... using the same things in different ways, and certainly getting the unused goodies out of the closet!
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend Marty!
With all the modern sleek TV stands, I wonder where those people stash their stuff? My entertainment center is large like yours and it holds many, many treasures! I love the riding hat!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Angela
Marty -- I agree -- sometimes you just need a little tweaking -- you don't need to redo a whole room!
ReplyDeleteGood job with your new look.
Marty, it all looks great! I love the magnifying glass and hat in there now. Beautifully done!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

Marty, I love a hunt themed room and I'm so excited that we'll be seeing yours progress. I keep thinking I'll do my library...er living room in a hunt theme but maybe the office. lol My problem is finding accessories to decorate with in ANY style. Either I'm awfully picky or they're gone when I get to the store. :(
ReplyDeleteI orded two of Nell Hill's books today. Can't wait for them to get here.
Love seeing how you change things around on your entertainment center. You always have great looks.
Hugs,
Babs
Yes, it was good before, but those extra touches filled out the picture. I do the same thing, move things around and haul stuff out of storage. It's fun.

ReplyDeleteYou have such an eye for beauty and uniqueness. I love the new items on your bookcase. It's amazing what a couple changes can do.
ReplyDeleteGreat additions Marty...Love the riding hat. It's a little change with a big impact. Love it! Wishing you a wonderful weekend.

You got your hat! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it fun changing things around? if only we could have a swap decor party with friends. Imagine how many new treasures could be found that way.
ReplyDeleteI love your new changes! The hat is great and the peases you moved around! Perfect! Lots of hugs. FABBY
ReplyDeleteNice touch of black. Such a pretty, well displayed bookcase. Not many have your talent.
ReplyDeleteMarty, you know I love the riding hat. Love it on that stack of books. I saw an old style derby hat yesterday at the antique mall in Franklin, Tn yesterday, but it was way more than I wanted to pay.
ReplyDeletethe riding hat really added some punch! looks great!
ReplyDeleteHi Marty, Believe it or not, Nell Hill is the reason I discovered the blog world! I was looking online for a source for her paints and I came across a Pink Saturday post referencing her store, then I linked there, and then onto the tablescape party she had joined...and you know how those links are! That was the beginning of my fun with blogging! You will find so much to oogle in her books! Enjoy! Linda
ReplyDeleteOh, and I wanted to say I love the tole planter with the fruit! Linda

ReplyDeleteIsn't it amazing what a big difference a little change can make. I loved the bookcase before and after. You have such an eye for decorating. I wish you lived in my neighborhood because I've hit a decorating wall. Have absolutely no clue what I'm going to do with my dining room. The little riding cap is my favorite. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Gigi
It looks perfect there, especially next to that picture. I love to play around with bookshelves. That's something that I can actually do!
ReplyDeleteFun as usual. Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteI love the hat there Marty!
ReplyDeleteThat's a fabulous addition!
