Kitchen After Christmas

It seems like everything looks so plain when all the glitter and color of Christmas is gone, so I decided to leave some of the red in the kitchen and familyroom.  Just looks so cheery right now.

The topiary and scale stayed from Christmas.  Just a little french chef and Mr. Roo is all I added.

The wheat and scale stayed from the Christmas display in this corner too.  I added my favorite rooster cloche and my sassy pig.

The little cow figurine goes with my little couple in the cloche.

I call these my little French farmers.  He's holding a basket of grapes.

I love this silly pig, he is just so dirty and so cute.

Nice and clean and ready for the New Year.

So, how are you coming with cleaning up Christmas and getting back to normal?

  1. Marty:

Love your vignette on your island especially the cute chef!

I always feel that things look a little scarce once the holiday decor is put away! So I usually add some new things in home or switch things around from other rooms!

    Have a great week!

  2. Marty you vignettes are perfect for keeping a little color in after the holidays!Well I just took my tree down today.I know I am a bit late but I have lots of things going on right now no time.

  3. Hi Marty! Great after Christmas tweaking. Although I am always sad about taking all the holiday stuff down,I also always feel it is such a relaxing, peaceful time in the house. A fun time to rearrange & rediscover the everyday objects I love. Jane

  4. Hi Marty! Your kitchen always looks fabulous! Love your vignettes too! I want to wish you a Happy New Year and here we go with another year of blogging.
    Be a sweetie,
    Shelia ;)

  5. It always looks so naked after the deChristmassing doesn't it? I played around and came up with a colour scheme of reds, faded greens, chocolate and creamy white. Come on over and take a peek...
    Cheers, Gee

  6. I sometimes appreciate the simplicity after Christmas. Your piggy is so cute

  7. Your kitchen vignettes look beautiful. I love having the extra space after Christmas. Makes everything look so open and big.

  8. My kitchen looks colorless, but yours look great even without the C'mas decor! Happy week.

  9. Marty, your vignettes are so cute! I love the "clean" feeling, after Christmas. I'm tinkering around my kitchen right now.

  10. Marty,
I love your kitchen vignettes, dear friend!!!
Your chef steals my heart each time I see him!
Cleaning is about finished and some new projects are about to begin!!!
Thanks for asking! What's up next @ A Stroll Thru Life???

  11. Your kitchen always looks wonderful, no matter the time of year! I didn't decorate this year because of the move so I had nothing to put away---silver lining :-)

  12. I love your kitchen vignettes...always happy and cheerful! Very fun!

  13. Beautiful vignettes, as always, Marty! I love the splashes of red and the goodies you added on top of your scales. I have a matching Mr. Roo ... now, if I could only find where I hid him for the holidays! LOL

  14. That's it! I have just got to get me a decorative rooster. I've seen them for years now and I love them...gotta get me one. I love your vignette. I too hate to see the "plainess" when Christmas is gone. Have a great evening.

  15. Marty your kitchen always looks fabulous!! I love the corner vignette!

  16. Marty, your kitchen looks great and I just love that little french couple,as I said before, anything under glass is so enchanting to me.It all looks so nice.

  17. Marty,
What a beautiful kitchen you have. I like your little pig friend too! I love that you made a page for the things you want to do in 2013! Very good goals too!

  18. I like the house when Christmas comes down -- it seems cleaner and so much more roomy!

  19. If anyone can put a Vignette together, it's you! Love It!

  20. Your kitchen looks so pretty and cheerful.
    Hugs, cindy

  21. Everything looks good, Marty! Love your farm couple. I have some blank spaces that I'm trying to look at as an opportunity to do something different from my norm. Some blank spaces are because I can't find the regular decor that was "safely" put away for Christmas. Since I'm trying to use what I have already, it is taking me a little while to pull things together that will work.

  22. Marty,

Your kitchen always looks great, love the rooster.

  23. I love your sassy pig! Your kitchen looks fresh for the new year...hugs, Penny

  24. I guess I haven't been here since you got your new blog design. I love it!!
Your kitchen looks so clean and ready for the new year. :) I left some pops of red from my Christmas decor in my home too. I just love red so much!

    Happy New Year, friend!

  25. I love your kitchen and I love roosters. I have quite a few of them in my kitchen. I recently found some inexpensive curtains with roosters on them too. It may be just a bit overdone, but they brighten up the room.
Christmas has been relegated to the basement here. There it sits just waiting to be packed up for another year.

  26. So pretty Marty. I always love red somewhere. Your dear little people are so sweet. in fact, I have some similar that belonged to my Grandmother.

  27. Your kithen looks warm and cozy, and not bare at all! I love pops of red, and find myself craving it more in my home, too.

  28. Beautiful as always Marty. And I love that cute sassy pig. I keep a few things out after Christmas, it just seems so dull after all the colors of the Christmas season. Your kitchen always looks so nice. Thanks for sharing, Hugs, Karie

  29. Your vignettes are always stunning Marty.

  30. Your home is always so beautiful, Marty. You have the coolest things and make the most gorgeous vignettes. I love it!
    Hugs and happy new year,

  31. Your kitchen always looks so charming, Marty! I like keeping some red in my decor after Christmas and usually through Valentine's Day. Then the Spring things can come out.

We are going to get a few days of real winter it seems, unless the "weather guessers" are totally off! We've got everything covered and wrapped -- hope it's enough! Stay warm!

  32. Marty everything you do, you do with style. Love the French Chef and your sweet pig too. Thank you for sharing at the hop xo

  33. Marty your kitchen looks lovely and I am still in LOVE with your pig! Thanx for partying at THT.

  34. Marty, I LOVE your kitchen. The couple is adorable and when you get tired of your 'lil piggy (which I KNOW WON'T EVER HAPPEN ; )) he can come live with ME : )
    Hugs ~
