2018 Fall Home Tour – My Home

I am thrilled to be starting off the

2018 Fall Home Tours.

Over the next 5 days – 30 of your favorite bloggers will open their doors to share their Fall Decor with you.

Today I am first, but be sure to check out the end of this post to visit the other 5 beautiful homes on the tour today.

Welcome to my home.  I am busy making a few changes as usual.  If you are new here, we have been in our home a little over 18 months and things keep changing all the time.  Finding the right furniture arrangements and accessories has been trial and error for sure.

Some things that worked beautifully in the last house just don’t work in this new one.  There have been several layouts for this house so far and today I want to share the latest.  (Now this is still a work in progress, so stay tuned.  Everything is subject to change.)

Welcome –  Just inside the front door is a library table that serves as our Entrance Table.  When you enter our home you step right into the living/dining area, so I love having this table as a place to drop my keys, packages, purse and shoes.  I am a barefoot gal, so off come the shoes first haha

This area recently got a makeover.  I replaced a painting with this mirror and added some new fall accessories.  I love grasses and these had such pretty fall colors.  I love the pretty wicker vase I found at Home Goods too.  I am loving adding in a little wicker throughout the house this season.

The living room got the biggest change this last week.

We’ve had a huge mirror on the wall in this room ever since we moved in.  It was a huge mirror and one that always created a lot of conversation.  Some liked it and some really hated it.  Since I had been using it in the last two houses, I finally decided it was time for it to go.  Here is the before – —

And The After

Wow, I couldn’t believe how big a two story blank wall can look.  My daughter came to the rescue by loaning me a couple of paintings until I decide what I am going to do with it.  (This is a really hard area to photograph, the colors just seem washed out)

This is a pair of paintings that she had in her previous home.  They are in shades of soft cocoa/gold & cream.

I used pillows in the same shades of coca brown as the art work.

I kept the wicker tray, but changed out all the accessories to a more eclectic mix.   I am shopping for a new coffee table, but still haven’t found what I want.

It will be fun to decide what is going to take the place of the mirror permanently.  Hopefully we will have some great changes in the near future.

The dining area got a new centerpiece and place settings.  I kept the wicker chargers because they just speak rustic fall to me and I wanted to keep the table casual.

Layering two napkins always looks interesting.

Just a sinple pot of ivy and two candlesticks is all it takes to create an inviting and interesting table.

The kitchen is my favorite room in the house.  I love how our remodel turned out.

If you missed the before you can see the complete makeover here.

The breakfast area is where we seem to gather when the family is here.  It can seat 8, so that usually works.

I have it set for a Farmhouse Sunday Morning Breakfast.

Wheat, checks and burlap are some of my favorite things.

The breakfast area, kitchen and family room take up the back of the house so naturally this where I am most of the time.

Family Room.  Like all the other rooms, this one is a work in progress too.

My beloved Horse painting is the main focal point.  I love how this room is beginning to come together with the painting, cowhide rug and round coffee table.  I am still working on chairs for this room, but in due time it will come together (I hope).

You will usually find all of us hanging out here watching TV or grabbing a snack from the kitchen.  This is where we “live”.

Thanks so much for the visit.  I always love having company.  Now be sure to check out the other 5 homes on the tour today.
