2018 Christmas Home Tour – My Home

Welcome to the 2018 Christmas Home Tours .

I am thrilled to be starting todays tours off . There will be 30 wonderful ladies opening the doors to their homes to share their Christmas decor over the entire week.  I am the first of 6 homes today, so make sure to check out every home each day.

If you are new to our home I am so excited you stopped by.

This is our second full year of being in our home.  We have been so busy remodeling and redoing each room so I can’t wait to share some of the changes and our home all dressed for Christmas.

The door is open, come on in.   I’ve been upstairs wrapping presents and hubby is outside hanging the lights and wreath.  We finished the garland on the stairs, so I think we have the halls decked from top to bottom.

Let me show you around.  Just inside the door our entrance table holds my favorite Carolers decked out in their Sunday best and a forest of glistening trees.  Don’t you love all these wonderful battery lights that make everything glow.

The Tree is always the star of the show and my favorite part of decorating for Christmas.  With our two story ceilings, we chose a 9′ tree.  I love how it makes such a statement.

This year I chose to accent with my favorite rusty orange instead of red.

I love an old fashioned tree with tons of wonderful ornaments collected over time.

(This room got a mini-makeover this year, you can see all the details here.)

Plaid and fur became the theme for rustic elegance.

I kept the coffee table simple with just Santa, a resting reindeer and a fun feather tree.

The dining area joins this space, so it was dressed for a special dinner.

I kept the color scheme gold, brown and orange to coordinate with the living area.

Gold chargers, gold flatware and beautiful gold trimmed stems.

To honor the reason for the season, I’ve used my beloved Nativity set as the centerpiece on the table.  Mary, Joseph & Baby Jesus rest under a cloche.  A wiseman holding a sheep and a cow are looking on.  They are surrounded by an angle, a giant reindeer and a glistening tree.

Being in the house for our second full year and being able to be closer to family and friends has been such a Blessing.  We’ve been busy with room makeovers and remodeling and this house really has become our home.

I wish you and your Family the Merriest of Christmas.

I’m so happy you stopped by today I always love having company.  I’ve shared the rest of the house in earlier posts.  (I’ll do a round up next week in case you missed any of them.)
