Cozy Winter Home Tour

After all the fluff and overload of Christmas, simple clean spaces are calling me for the new year.  Our winter weather has finally arrived here in the desert.  We have been in the 50's for highs and as low as freezing for lows.  I wanted something cozy and simple for the living room.

Leopard and fur feels cozy.  Who doesn't love to snuggle up with fur.  I love the warm colors and all the texture too.

I love mixing different patterns together, it just seems more interesting to me.

The guys have been playing chess again so I thought I would leave it set up so they can play anytime they want.  This black and white marble set adds another pattern to the room too.

The mini makeover this room has been through this past summer and fall is finally coming together.   It amazes me that changing the mirror and coffee table made such a difference in the room.  There was a lot of trial and error and then I just followed my heart.  If you missed my post "The Best Design Tips I've Learned That Will Help You Too", is all the lessons I learned to finally just go for it and create the room I love.

It really is beginning to look like me and feel like home.

  1. I always enjoy visiting your home and it looks lovely decorated for winter. I love your fur pillows and blanket and can imagine how cozy it is to sit in this space at night. Your new mirror and coffee table look great in this space. I'm guilty of always reading your posts but not taking time to comment. As you've shared your other cozy winter spaces, I've enjoyed those posts as well.

  13. Marty, I love the animal print pillows. They really look great in this room with all the other accessories and furnishings. The chess set looks perfect on your coffee table. It looks like a photo from a magazine. My parents lived in Phoenix for years and having visited them through all the various months, I know exactly how cold it can get there. Stay warm with your fur throw!

  19. Your home and room, as always, look perfect and beautiful. One comment .... As the daughter of a chess champion, I want to THANK you for having the chess board set up correctly -- with the bottom corner being the WHITE square. White on Right!! Irks me to no end when I see it set up incorrectly, and I know Daddy appreciates me gently correctly people, LOL

Enjoy your warm weather, it is cold here in Toronto, but we are headed to Florida tomorrow.
