Let's Go Shopping - There's A New Kid On The Block

I am in a No- Spend period at the moment, however when I saw this sign at my local shopping area, I had to go see how this came about.

I think we have all seen the combination of Marshalls and Home Goods, but in my area TJ Maxx usually stands alone.  All of the TJ Maxx stores that I have ever been in always had a small home decor section, but never a full blown Home Goods.  It was fun to see how they incorporated both in this store.

This was my view as I entered the store - -(I was there early, so not too many shoppers yet, so I tried to not take any pictures of others shopping)

a quick look to the left and - - -

then a look to the right --

and a little further to the right.

At this time of year there was tons of pretty Easter Decor.

As I started down the aisles, I couldn't help but take a few pictures of some of the end caps.  Love this pretty turquoise collection.

I am such a neutral lover, that I loved everything on this end cap.

This bright yellow and green is so eye catching too.

They had tons of pretty white and gold accessories.  I loved those tulip candle holders lined with gold.

There is always tons of pretty blue things

Copper, wood and different metals are all so popular now.

Great Clearance aisles too

Their kitchen department is one of my favorites.

and I love all the seasonal decor

 Furniture and rugs

Lots of art

 Pretty Farmhouse accessories

Pillows in every color

 Tons of drapes too

Bedding

 Lamps

As you could see, this is a full blown Home goods.  They separated the two stores by placing furniture down the center aisle

This shows how they have a typical TJ Maxx on this side.

How fabulous is this.  Definitely one stop shopping.

I love having this store so close to me, so fun to see what all is new and current even if I am on a No Spend Budget at the moment.

So what do you think?  Isn't this a great idea?

  1. I think it's a fabulous idea, Marty! I noticed a sign up for a TJ Maxx and Homegoods in a shopping center near me that previously housed a Shoppers, Kids R Us and Kmart - all closed, and I wondered which one was coming. It's a wonderful way to re-vitalize the community especially when so many stores are going out of business or closing! And to have the two combined in one location - great! I haven't been to a HomeGoods or TJ Maxx in a while, but your wonderful pictures made me excited about having something like this close by! Thanks for sharing your outing!

  3. I am in love with Home Goods but am on an only buy what I really need budget. We need some new things for home upkeep so I am holding off on purely decorative items. Use what I have and move it around.

  8. That is exactly how are homegoods and TJ Maxx combo store looks like...........we love going there, it is a fun store.........but can be a bit overwhelming they have so much stuff at the first of the year. Most discount stores hardly have anything much to look at in Jan. and Feb. till the spring things come out.
In Charleston SC where my daughter lives they have a Marshalls and tj Maxx combo store. It is pretty good too....we always enjoy going there when we visit.
    Have fun....
    Blessings, Nellie

  9. We have three separate stores but I love going into each one although I rarely go to Marshalls. I have put myself on a no-spend restriction because I simply don't have room to store anything else. And why in the world do I need anything else for the house anyway. I am going to be all about repurposing this spring and not do specific seasonal/holiday decorating.

  10. I must be the only one who prefers the stand alone Home Goods.. We have only one outlet here.. a TJ Maxx/ HG store but the merchandise is so packed together you can't really see it.. Up then interstate is a stand alone HG and I can peruse that store for hours!!!

  11. Oh my gosh, Marty, what a fabulous place!! Home Goods is such a treat for me, as the closest one is about 40 minutes away. The last time I was there I gave myself a budget of $20 to spend and stuck to it!!
