Modern Farmhouse is a mix of all kinds of styles, so it was fun to create this casual look for summer. My living room is really a mix of styles already, so adding in a few Farmhouse accessories just made it feel casual and relaxed.
I don’t usually do a lot of Blue and White, however there are some great pillows out there in the blue color-way. I found some bargains at TJMaxx, Hobby Lobby and Ross. When Hobby Lobby has their pillow covers on sale you can pick up a great selection for around $5 each. That is what I call a bargain for sure. (That ticking stripe and the white pillow on the sofa were only $5 each.)
Summer means casual entertaining, time around the pool, bar-b-q’s, shorts and flip flops. Time for the inside to take on the same casual feeling.
Checks, windowpane plaid and ticking stripes mix well together.
Baskets, straw hats and yard clippings filling the vase.
The adjoining Dining Table is set with pretty blue and white too. (The morning sun just makes this room glow)
I found this pretty blue and white cache pot at Ross for $5.99, perfect for my blue and white tablesetting.
Straw placemats, blue striped napkins and white accessories create a simple and casual table.
The view from upstairs is one I always love to see every morning, the sun streaming in is so welcoming.
