We are at the end of summer and yet, not quite fall. I thought I would just refresh a few things in the living room before I decorate for Fall. So today I am sharing my Late Summer Living Room Refresh. I’ve enjoyed the blue and white this summer. My Coastal Farmhouse look for my 2019 Summer Home Tour was a favorite.
I loved the pretty new blue pillows I had been using, so I added one more to the blue mix.
This was the pillow assortment I had been using. I love that blue check one, so fun. It gives the room a sort of Casual Coastal Farmhouse look. I love how it gave the living room a more relaxed feel. I had so much fun pulling this new look together with thrifted pillows and accessories I already had. As I’ve said before, Hobby Lobby has the best pillow cover selection for mere pennies. They also put them on 1/2 price sale every couple of seeks, so you can buy a fabulous pillow for $5. (Don’t forget they always have a 40% off coupon) That means you can have an unreal pillow stash and change things up any time you want to. As you know, I do this all the time. Another pretty blue pillow I bought this summer is this gorgeous Ikat. I didn’t use it in the earlier post, so I thought I would switch out the blue check and change up a few accessories for a fresh Late Summer Living Room. It always amazes me how simply swapping out one pillow can totally change the vibe of the whole room. It is still casual but a little more classic instead of coastal.
Swapping out a few accessories is my next favorite thing to do to create the look of a new room. The coffee table is my favorite place to decorate. It’s so easy to change out the accessories and change the whole room. I am loving these soft feathery green colors and how these faux plants really do look real. I love my thrifted coral find too.
As you can see I had a little picture bomber today. This is my 2 1/2 year old grandson running through, squinting and saying “cheeeeeeese”. Love that kid.
I moved my flowering branches to the entry table to freshen up that space a little too.

I think my Late Summer Living Room Refresh will be perfect for the last few weeks of summer, then it will be time for Fall.

Marty, where are just pillow covers located in Hobby Lobby? I see their selection of pillows all the time but never just their pillow covers? Since we have downsized, I don’t have any place to keep so many pillows! Thanks for sharing.
You find them in the fabric section where all the decor fabrics are on rolls. There is a whole big section with pillows, drapes and rods. They run them on salee at 1/2 off every couple of weeks, but be sure to always use your 40% off coupon if they aren’t on sale. Even off sale the highest price I have seen is $16.99.

I bought it from a neighbor that was moving about 8 years ago. She had just had it custom made and it is sooooooooooooooo comfy. I agree, I think it is a treasure too. Marty

I believe your grandson is ready to start his day. He is a cutie. Every thing does look fresh. I had never thought about Hobby Lobby for pillows. I still think the mirror above the sofa would look nice with the wider loop at the bottom and
the more narrow loop on the side. It is such a beautiful mirror. Don’t you just love changing things . It makes everything look new again. Have a great day with your grandson.

Mirrors are magic, and all of your pretty throws and pillows keep that late summer vibe alive. I was thinking of doing a refresh today before I bring on the fall, maybe mid September. I’m jazzed now!

You really are able to pull off new looks simply by changing pillows and accessories. I am going to start making things easier on myself following your influence. I already am trying to simplify my transition to fall using just pillows and a few accessories. I am looking foward to the tour!
