Setting Up A Small Holiday Bar Tray

We’re not big drinkers here at our house, we do like a glass of wine occasionally, but hard liquor not so much.  When the holidays roll around, I like to set up a small bar tray in case our company would like a mixed drink of some kind.  I think all of the liquor we have was brought by friends that came to visit.  I don’t remember ever buying any, so what we have is becoming really aged at this point.  My hubby did like a small glass of port once in a while, so I did buy that for him.

Now that I’ve moved the buffet table into the dining area where it should have been all along.  (For a while it was the Entrance Hall console, then it made it’s way into the Family Room to hold the tv and now finally into the dining area).  I like to create small vignettes like the one you see here to accent a table setting, and I think this is the perfect place to set up a Holiday Bar Tray.

With the holiday approaching, I will be changing up the tables, so I thought maybe a tray that I could leave up for the season might work.

Just a small tray with a mix of liquors to choose from.

I didn’t add any mixers to the tray, I will keep those handy in the kitchen which is just a couple of steps away.

The wine cabinet in the corner has a tray on top of it also.  These are three good dessert wines.  One of them is a Chocolate Wine, it is sooo good.  Great even poured over a piece of cake or ice cream.

The wine cabinet and the small bar tray will take care of our adult drinks for the holidays.  Next, I’ll set up a hot chocolate bar for the little ones.  That is always a hit.

Last year I also set up a Dessert Coffee Bar in the kitchen.  We’re all coffee drinkers, so we made good use of it.

I love how welcoming your drink tray makes the space feel. You are the hostess with the most-est! 🙂

Your trays are so pretty, Marty! I will be on the lookout for one.
Would you mind sharing the brand of Chocolate Wine you like so much? Thx.

I really like several, but the one I’ve had the most is – – – -Made by Chocolate Shop
Chocolate Shop, the ultimate “Chocolate Lover’s Wine” is a deep, ruby red wine blended with rich, velvety chocolate. Chocolate Shop provides you with an indulgent wine experience like no other. Inviting aromas of black cherry and dark chocolate entwine and continue on the palate surrounded by hints of cocoa powder. Nuances of red wine and residual sugar linger on the smooth finish.

Port wine is fabulous to serve with dark chocolates. Very easy to do and put together either a vignette or a “charcuterie” of sorts. Fancy and upscale (husband found this treat internationally years ago) but oh so easy! Great idea for the upcoming bevy of holidays and events. P.

This is really nice. Love the idea of Chocolate wine too. Happy Wednesday sweet friend.
