I have to admit, we are really spoiled when it comes to bad winter weather. Our temperatures are really nice most of the season, however, we grump when we have some cloudy, rainy days. We had rain at Christmas and then the whole week between Christmas and New Year was dark, dreary, and rainy. I love it when the weather changes and we have such glorious Sunshine After The Rain.
I’ve had a cold and really didn’t feel well most of the week. I was finally feeling better and thought I had to give my kitchen a really good cleaning from top to bottom. I had only done some surface cleaning since Christmas, so it was due. While I was scrubbing away, I loved all the bright sunshine that was coming through the windows. It just seemed to warm up the whole room. Our kitchen and family room are all one room. The family room looked so pretty with the sun streaming in through the windows, I just had to grab my camera and take a couple of pics.
I love how the light creates such pretty shadows on the floor and furniture.
What a nice way to start the day.

Marty, I too love the sunshine beaming into the room, especially after a time of cold or dreary weather.
When my mother in law was living, and at home by herself, she would close the drapes and doors. She enjoyed being closed in. And that is ok.
But I love to get up in the morning, open the shades and front door, and enjoy the sunshine of the new day while I make the coffee .
