Keeping It Cozy Winter Home Tour

I am thrilled to be joining a great group of friends for a Keeping It Cozy Winter Home Tour.  Thanks so much to Amber @ Follow The Yellow Brick Home for organizing all of us.  With Christmas put away, time to clean things up and refresh some of the rooms.  I like to start with the living/dining areas since that is what you see when you first walk in the door.  Our Christmas was done with some beige, cream, brown, and copper.  I thought a color change was due.  I decided that I wanted to keep the leather chair here for a while, so I wanted a color scheme that still looked cozy and sort of masculine.  Gray and a bit of soft camel seemed perfect to me.

If you came over from Follow The Yellow Brick Home,  welcome, I know you loved her beautiful cozy winter decorating ideas.

When you enter our home, you walk right into the living/dining area.  This is a two-story area that looks up into the loft on the second floor.  I use the interior two-story wall to create a sort of entrance with my favorite little chest and art.  This is where you can drop your keys and packages, so it is the perfect spot to greet guests.

The other side of the room has our seating/dining areas.

I still like the leather chair in here.  I swapped it out with a white wingback a few months ago and love the added texture and warmth it adds to the room.  The leather chair had been in the master bedroom, so now the white wingback is in there and I love it there too.

It’s fun to move furniture around from room to room to create different looks.

Gray and soft camel-colored pillows and throw blanket add a masculine touch to the living room.  A nice change after the glitzy Christmas.

A couple of lanterns and simple greenery was all I used on the coffee table.

This end of the room is our dining area.  It is tucked next to the stair.  (You can see part of my loft office at the top of the stairs.)

I created a really simple tablesetting.

Candlesticks and some simple greenery.  Place settings with gold chargers, gold flatware, and gray napkins.

I think this soft color pallet will work until we start thinking about Spring.

Next up on the tour is Dera @ Common Ground.  I am sure you will love the tour of her gorgeous hearth room as much as I did.  Be sure to check out all the tours by clicking the links below.

I love to switch furniture from room to room as well. One of the benefits is knowing the piece is your style and you didn’t have to go from store to store searching for it. Your soft color palette is so pretty. Looking forward to seeing what you do this spring. Enjoyed hopping with you!

I always love visiting your home no matter what time of year because that glorious sunshine will be pouring into your living room! I think the colors you are using are so perfect for this time of year and will certainly work all the way through spring. I am inspired by your mix of chic with masculine elements. I am working to add more masculine elements and traditional decor to replace just a bit of shabby items that are feeling well, a bit too shabby these days.

Thank you so much for joining the hop. I am praying that as you see that sunshine daily, you have a constant reminder of God’s magnificent light and glory, and the promises of heaven to give you peace and comfort during your times of sorrow.

    Much love and prayers!

Everything is so beautiful in your home Marty! I love how you moved your leather chair in. It’s beautiful in the space. I’m swooning over the lanterns on the coffee table.
