I love Spring, the weather is so perfect and everything just seems to be coming alive. All the pretty flowers everywhere and it just seems like there is a smile on every face. So today I am super excited to be joining a group of ladies for the February Pinterest Challenge hosted by my friend Cindy @ County Road 407. She chooses a picture that inspires her and then we all add our version of something similar or inspired by this picture. She chose a picture that reminds her of Spring. Spring Lanterns – Feb. Today’s inspiration comes from Ann @ On Sutton Place. She uses Lanterns, a Bunny, and Carrots to create a Spring Tray.
I created a version of her tray using a few things I had in my stash.
Instead of a white pitcher, I chose to use my wicker vase to hold a few budding stems that I already had. Since I didn’t have a small enough bunny to go in my lantern, I placed a small calf figurine that I had. Newborn calves make me think of spring too. Her carrots were cloth and mine are faux ones that I found years ago. I added a fun succulent plant to my tray for added texture.
As you can see from the windows in my breakfast area, we have overcast skies again. No rain yet, but dreary looking.
The dreary weather didn’t keep this fun little Spring tray from being fun to put together.

Great idea to use a little calf in the lantern instead of a bunny. Shows this project is about inspiration, not imitation. The arrangement brightens up your table on a cloudy day.
