Last Minute Budget Friendly Fall In The Family Room.  Don’t you love last minute ideas and projects.  I don’t usually like to be in a time crunch, but this one turned out really fun.  The extra bonus is I really like it too.  I will be starting off the 2023 Fall Home Tours next week, and I really wanted to have some fall decor to share in the Family Room.  One problem, I really, really dislike the old sofa I have in their, so I can’t get too motivated to decorate.  Maybe I can cover it up for a while.  Solution, an inexpensive sofa slipcover.

It’s amazing at how different this looks.  A little history about this sofa.  It’s been around for a while.  I needed a sofa for my living room in the previous house and as luck would have it, I found a white one (perfect color) used for $100.  I didn’t really care for the cut velvet fabric, but it was nearly new and custome, so it was well made.  That was 10 years ago and it has been in my living room in this house too.  It was really beginning to show a ton of wear and was getting harder and harder to cover up with throw blankets and pillows.

So I swapped it out with the newer one I had in the family room.  The newer one looks stunning in the living room and is much prettier for company.

While I hunt for a new sofa for the family room, I need to make this one work.  I need something that family and dogs can enjoy and I don’t have to worry about it.  I ordered a set of slipcovers for the old sofa and it totally changed the whole room.

Here is the before with the old sofa.  Not bad, but you can’t really tell how worn it looks, and the style and cut velvet fabric don’t fit the style of the room.

Now here is the sofa with the new slipcovers.  At least it looks clean and fresh all for a mere $65.  This will work for now.  Hopefully I will find a sofa I love and this old faithful can be put out to pasture.

I wasn’t sure about adding more gray to the room, but it looks ok.  This seems to fit in better than the white velvet.  I still want a more modern transitional style for the new sofa and maybe even in a leather.  Definitely something that can take a ton of wear.

A surprising change that works for now.  Last Minute Budget Friendly Fall In The Family Room.

Love the grey!! It really grounds the room and makes it a nice blend of contemporary and traditional. It’s a beautiful room!
