2021 Spring Home Tour – My Home

I love our seasonal tours and I am so excited to start off the 2021 Spring Home Tour today.  We have 30+ ladies that will be sharing their Spring Home Tours with you all week.  So buckle up and mark your calendar to come back to see them all week long.

I am starting off today with a tour of my favorite spaces.  The entire back of our house is one long space with our Family Room, Kitchen, and Breakfast Room.  As you enter the family room is on the right.  I love all the windows and light this whole area has.  We have 5 large windows and a sliding door on the back of the house, so these spaces get great light.

The Family Room isn’t a really large space, but it is where we all like to hang out.  I’ve tried to create a cozy space for us to watch TV or visit when we have company.  Since it is next to the kitchen, it is always the favorite place to gather.

This is the perfect room to have some plants, the sun shines bright in here all day. The main seating area is a soft cream sofa and I love the leather accent chair too.  A cowhide rug pulls the whole room together and adds an interesting contrast to the wood floors. Because the room is small, I kept the wood console light.  The glass coffee table doesn’t take up any visual space and it also allows you to see the cowhide rug.

Yellow and gray is such a great combination and it really enhances my favorite painting. With so many windows in here, wall space is limited, so my one large horse painting is the perfect focal point.

On this side of the room, we have our two recliners.  Of course, these are the favorite seats in the house.  Gray soft leather that just seems to wrap around you.

This is where you will find us most of the time.

When you enter the kitchen and breakfast room is on the left.  From the family room, this is the view you have.  Our Kitchen Makeover was the first thing we did when we moved into the house and it is still my favorite makeover.

I think a white kitchen is classic.  We were able to remove a few cabinets, add a few more, paint, lighting, hardware, appliances and create my dream kitchen on a budget.  I still love it 4 years later.  It’s not a big kitchen, however, the huge walk-in pantry is its saving grace.

I try to keep the counters clear of any unnecessary clutter, but I do love to mix in a few of my favorite decor pieces.

The island is a favorite place to decorate and my little drunken chef always makes me smile.

On the other side of the island is our Breakfast area.  This is a nice space large enough to hold my farmhouse trestle table.  I usually have it set for 6 but we can seat 3 on each side if we need to accommodate 8.

Today the table is set with gold chargers, white plates, gray napkins and gold stemless glasses.  Perfect for everyday or company.

I like to keep the centerpiece simple so we can all visit during our meal.  A couple of glass hurricanes and a few plants were all the table needed.

That does it for today’s tour, be sure to check back next week for 2021 Spring Home Tour Part 2 – Living Room.

Now be sure to visit the other 5 homes on today’s tour.

Marty I always love seeing the beautiful lighting in your home and have classic and elegant everything looks. My eye was immediately drawn to the pretty baskets you used for your trees and the other baskets and wood elements you have used throughout your home. I love the wicker chairs on each end of your table. I have been thinking about adding two wicker and cane chairs on each end of my farm table.

Your home looks so pretty for spring! Thank you so much for organizing this tour!
