Dresser Refinished

I love this piece and am so glad I found it.   Exactly what I wanted and it looks perfect for my style and the room.  A little online research and I believe this piece was made around 1940 to 1950.  It is made by Drexel, and is very heavy.  Gorgeous detail and beautiful dove tail drawers.  Nice to have it restored back to it’s original beauty.

With this piece in place, I am calling the Master Bedroom officially done.

A nice size with ample storage, yet it doesn’t crowd the little settee and looks in proportion to the room. (The light is making the room look yellow.  Actually it is beige and the settee and drapes are a cocoa brown.)

My garden stool that I painted and had on the front porch is the perfect color, also makes a great little table to hold a book or something to read next to the settee.  Stacks of decorating books are on the floor.

I love the small pedestal and fern in the corner and the asymmetrical wall and table vignette is fun for a change.

Pretty turned and fluted columns on the corners of the dresser.

Beautiful old brass bail pulls.  Love the fluted bead detail on these.

It coordinates well with the nightstand I found at GW and refinished.

The piece is mahogany and I used a combination of mahogany stain with the final coats of stain being dark walnut.  It toned down a lot of the red of the mahogany.

This is the wall across from the bed.

One more area checked off the to-do list.  I really am pleased with the final results.

Don’t you love it when you get one more project done and crossed off the list.
