New Family Room End Table

Are you like me and you just keep editing things in every room.  I am not aiming for perfection of any kind, just for some harmony with each room.  Also, I am still using a lot of my goodwill finds that I love – well some not so much.  I had borrowed an end table from the living room when I did the Family Room Makeover.  so I needed a New Family Room End Table.

With our old recliners, I used a floor lamp on this side of the sofa.  I wanted to use the matching lamp this time around.  I love the symmetry of having tables and matching lamps on each side of the sofa.  I also found a new lamp for the chest that is between our two recliners, so I didn’t need the floor lamp.  Hunting for a table that is unique is a challenge.  I wanted something with lighter wood since the recliners have lighter wood on the arms.

I thought the iron legs and the distressed wood top was different and fit my style perfectly. (Tip:  See that little bit of white peaking out from behind the sofa on the floor.  With hardwood floors sometimes the sofa tends to scoot back against the wall when people sit down on it.  A small piece of wood molding behind the back legs keeps the sofa from sliding and hitting the wall. )

I love how the iron legs wrap around the top.

This corner looks better to me now, I really like the new table.

There was one more thing I still had on my mind.  I found a wonderful glass floating candle hurricane at my favorite thrift type store.  (It’s a store called Furniture Affair in Phoenix that sells only model home furniture).  I bought the small one and wanted to go back and get the larger one too, so on Friday I ran out and picked it up. The small one was $22 and the large one was $29.  Great prices for such unusual pieces.

I think they are so interesting to have the hanging candles instead of them being in a base of some kind.  The two together make a great statement.  (On a side note, the tall wall candle sconces are back in stock here. )

Ok, I think I am done for a while.  I really like how this room turned out, so I am going to leave it alone for a while, maybe a long time. haha

Did the new recliners come from Living Spaces? I love this style, but I seemed to have trouble getting OUT of the chair. Are these another brand?

Yes these came from living spaces. You can adjust the tension on the bottom of the chair if you are having trouble and they seem stiff. ( I haven’t had to adjust ours and not sure how to do it, but they said you could and the instructions sheet said there was a toggle or something on the bottom. I forgot, but read your instructions or call the store, I am sure they can help you. ) We love them. They are so comfortable.

I love the tip about placing the piece of wood behind the sofa leg. Those floating candles are stunning!
