2020 Fall Home Tour – My Home

Welcome to my 2020 Fall Home Tour.  These seasonal tours are always the highlight of each season for me.  I am so happy to be the final tour in this years lineup.  I usually host these tours and start off with my home each season, but this year I had to excuse myself from hosting.  Linda @ It All Started With Paint stepped up and volunteered to host this season, I can’t thank her enough and all the wonderful ladies who linked up to share their beautiful  Fall Decor.    If you are coming over from DaNita @ Delightful Order, welcome.  I am sure you were as inspired by her beautiful home as I am.

I had a few ideas of what I wanted to do for Fall before I got sick and my world fell apart when Jim passed.  Things haven’t been quite normal around here, but I wanted to put together something.  I am still trying to get my bearings day by day.  Jim always loved seeing how the house changed with each season and even helped me with my design ideas.  I didn’t always follow his suggestions, but I loved that he took an interest.  This year I am going with a version of masculine boho – shades of gray with a lot of texture. There are so many wonderful pillows out there now, it is so much fun to find ones with tons of texture and interest and mix them up.

One of my favorite things about this room is all the angles and the two-story ceilings.

The entrance wall is very dramatic with such a high ceiling.  The console table and really tall art help bring it down to size.

I love how the light from our huge 9′ windows create shadows and even more texture to the pillows.

I added a basket and wood bowl to the coffee table for even more texture and interest.

Since the dining area is part of this same space, I kept the centerpiece a little boho too.

A simple basket arrangement was all the table needed.

    Marty,

How perfect for us to both go with a masculine boho vibe to bookend the tour? I guess great minds think alike!

Your home is simply stunning! And I love how Jim would get involved in the seasonal decorating decisions. I often ask my husband’s opinions before embarking on any big changes in the house! I find he has a very timeless style.

Thank you for all your kind words this week. Sending prayers, hugs and kisses your way!

Marty, I am so sorry to not have known about the death of your Jim. I’m not sure how I missed that but please know I send my deepest and most sincere condolences to you. I admire you and Kathy Purdue (https://www.facebook.com/kathy.perdue.75) who have recently lost your love and partner and are determined to persevere. Your Fall touches are beautiful and I appreciate that you felt comfortable in doing a minimal amount this year.

I love the addition of your gray pillows Marty. Such a pretty, neutral look for fall. The addition of the wood bowl on the coffee table and the centerpiece on the dining table is perfect! Such great texture. I am so happy to see you back to doing something that you love and enjoy, even if for just a minute. I continue to pray for you and your family.

Beautiful boho and neutral vibes for early fall. As always I am loving your glorious sunshine. The obelisk under the unique glass cloche and the quail are my favorite touches. It is always lovely!
