My Thanksgiving Kitchen

It is almost time for Thanksgiving, so I thought before the Christmas Holiday takes over, I would add a bit of Thanksgiving to the kitchen.

It is always fun to add a few different decorations to the kitchen for each season and especially the holidays.

The island is my favorite place to add a tray with my seasonal decor.  I’ve had this turkey for years, so he became center stage this time around.

Then the range wall usually gets a few things.

I love my little drunken chef, so he usually hangs around all year.

The other side of the range gets a plant with a few berries for color.

Not too much for now, but right after Thanksgiving, it will begin to sport it’s Christmas decor.  That’s when I like to go crazy.

Hi Marty! May I ask what microwave you have? Our new kitchen has a cabinet above the stove that comes out a bit like, I believe, yours does. After they put our old microwave back, steam escaped and warped the cabinet door above it. Its not a cabinet I use very much and so we didn’t notice it right away. They are replacing the door, but I think it will just happen again. It seems adding those few extra inches to the depth of the cabinet affected the way the microwave works. When I saw your microwave, I thought I’d ask. Thank you!

Such a lovely and cozy kitchen! The turkey and floral arrangement on your kitchen island is the perfect decoration for the holidays. I’m having my kitchen cabinets redone by a local cabinet refinisher and am thinking of using the same color as you—Swiss Coffee, I believe. My only concern is that this light color will show dust and grime faster than darker cabinet colors. Have you found this to be the case or is it easy to keep your cabinets looking clean with this color?

Mine haven’t been any problem to keep clean. We don’t have a lot of children here, so we don’t get that many fingerprints to wipe down. I love the Swiss Coffee, it is such a soft white color. Marty
