Putting The House Back Together

Since the house seemed on overload with Christmas, I am in the mood for minimal decor at the moment.  I started with the Master Bedroom, then I thought I would just stay upstairs and finish cleaning this floor before I went downstairs.  I am beginning the chore of Putting The House Back Together.

Master Bedroom – This was so easy, I didn’t do a ton in here, so stripping out the Christmas took just a few minutes.  Changing out a pillow, different throw and a new vignette on the dresser and I was done.

2021 Holiday Home Christmas – You can see my bedroom dressed for Christmas.

It always amazes me how dirty the house is when you take all the Christmas decor down, it seems like there are pine needles (even from faux trees) everywhere and dust bunnies galore.  This calls for some deep cleaning before we can put each room back together.

I am thrilled to be joining a group of friends for another Cozy Living Series.  All the links will be at the end of this post. Special thanks to Jennifer from Town and Country Living who hosts this series each month for including me.

Next on the list is the Loft/Office – GirlCave. .

I don’t go way overboard in this room decorating for Christmas, so this is a much easier room to turn back to normal.  Once Christmas decor is removed, it’s just a matter of different pillows, throws, and accessories.  So easy.

I love this space and spend quite a bit of time here.  You can see just a glimpse in the mirror of the entertainment center that takes up the wall across from the settee and holds a tv, office supplies, and great speakers for my music.   I can sit here and watch all my favorite programs and not bother anyone else.

This little wicker trunk makes a great coffee table and holds extra linens too.  If we have overflow guests, we put an air mattress down in this area and all the linens are easy to grab.  This room always looks inviting with tones of camel and cream, so that’s how I put it back together.

It’s fun to create a few new vignettes after Christmas.  I love this faux turtle shell, it goes with the masculine lamp – a bronze golfer I found at the thrift store.

I love my office space, it is perfect for me on a day-to-day basis.   This gate-leg table makes a fabulous desk.

The small bookcase next to the desk holds all my pens, note pads, tape, paperclips, chargers, and items that I use most often.

Here is what our Christmas looked like.

Now that upstairs is done, I need to tackle downstairs.  That is going to take a lot more time and energy, so I better get started. there’s a lot here to put away.

I don’t think I ever noticed that bronze golfer table lamp. What a great find! My hubby is a golfer and would love to have your lamp in our home. I took down all our Christmas stuff this year in record time. I kept things simple and didn’t do as much and when it came time to clean-up, I was glad I went simpler! Your home always looks warm and beautiful!

Have always loved your ‘girl cave’ – homey, inviting and perfect place to hang out. Can see myself in there too! =) Re holiday decorations I didn’t do much this year because my dad is not well and drove out of state twice already. Started removing some stuff today. The tree is always last and likely taken down sooner then in years past, yet I’m ok with it. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
