2022 Spring Home Tour – My Home

Welcome to the 2022 Spring Home Tour – My Home.  I am thrilled to be starting off the tours.  We have some amazing homes this entire week, so be sure to come back every day so you don’t miss a single one.

I usually start my tours in the living room, however, I thought I would start off with the family room this time.  Welcome to my home.

If you’ve followed along for a while, you’ve seen this room change 180 degrees.  My traditional furniture from the last home just didn’t work in here, so this room has been in transition for the 5 years we’ve lived here.  A couple of years ago I finally got some of the basics right and now I think I have all the final pieces in place.  I love how this room has taken on a really fun transitional style that better fits the house.

I am loving color for now.  You know how sometimes less is more, but right now I think more is more.  Bright yellow has been calling my name.

I found 4 of these abstract pillows in black and yellow, so I just had to use one of my favorites.

Yellow and black just seemed to work well with my horse painting and my dark gray leather recliners.

The back of the house is one long room with the family room, kitchen and breakfast area.  This picture is taken from the kitchen.

If you turn around, this is the view of the kitchen and breakfast area from the family room.

I love our kitchen remodel, it is still one of my favorite rooms 5 years later.

It’s not a huge kitchen, but it functions perfectly for me.

The major plus to my small kitchen is this amazing walk-in pantry.  I love it. (The other door opens to my laundry room.)

The breakfast area in next to the kitchen on this end of the room.

It’s a nice area that fits my harvest table with space enough to seat 8 or 10 in a pinch.  (Decor tip – use two different napkins if you don’t have enough of the same print.  It adds interest and a casual note to the table.)

I used yellow and black here to coordinate with the family room space.

I love this, it says Spring to me.

Now be sure to check out the other 5 homes on today’s tour.  They are all amazing and full of ideas, tips, and inspiration for your own Spring decor.

Thrifty and Chic – Alicia mixes old and new through her home with such a chic touch.  Each space is filled with her wonderful finds and character.

Chalking Up Success – Jayne’s home is filled with her amazing DIY Projects and Crafts.  She adds a personal touch to every room.

White Arrows Home – Kristin lives in the most amazing log house and her decor is always a delight.

Pink Peppermint Design – Tammy’s amazing Transitional Style is always filled with tons of ideas to inspire you.

Worthing Court – Suzy always pays attention to every detail.  Her home reflects her collected and eclectic style.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the entire week, you don’t want to miss a single tour.   Here are the links to the lineups all week long.

The golden tones of the throw pillows really flow nicely with the golden in the horse painting and the coffee table. Beautiful view. Am loving the metal camel butter dish on your counter top! Also the use of lemons, so fresh. You are one of the most encouraging bloggers in blogosphere always seeing the beauty in everyone. Always look forward to your tours. I do miss the creative cloches you used to do, maybe throw me a cloche bone once in a while 😘

I can see why the yellow is calling your name. It is striking against the cream sofa and goes so well with that beautiful horse print. I’ve always loved touches of black so that is calling my name. 😉 Everything looks so happy in both rooms. And I can totally relate to taking 5 years to find what you’ve needed all along. Great job! Thank you for inviting me to tour with you.

The yellow looks magnificent! I especially love the black and yellow abstract pillow. And yes, the black & yellow combo is perfect with your gray recliners and art! and I totally agree with you – a small kitchen is no problem when you have a walk-in pantry. Hoping we can figure out how to create one in our new home someday! Beautiful Spring touches and a wonderful tour. Thank for SO much for hosting and inviting me along. Have a great week!

I love the pops of yellow for Spring Marty! And the sofa pillows are so chic with the cowhide rug. Where did the silver camel in the kitchen come from? Is it a dish cover? So neat!

    • March 22, 2022 / 9:11 am

Yes the camel is a butter dish. I found it at Home Goods. So fun. Thanks, Marty
