Welcome, I am so excited – Our 2022 Summer Home Tours begin today and I am starting things off with my home. We have 30 amazing ladies that will be opening the doors to their homes all week long to share their summer decor – 6 homes each day. Let’s start with the 2022 Summer Home Tours – My Home and get a sneak peek into the homes of the other 5 ladies that are joining me today.
When you enter my home you walk into one large two-story room. You see the living area, dining area, upstairs loft area, and the opening to the family room, kitchen, and outside. Decorating this area seemed intimidating in the beginning, but I love how open everything is.
I’ve created a sort of entry on the left as you enter. A pretty console, painting, and chair provide a place to drop packages, and keys and to sit down and take your shoes off.
My favorite “puppy” welcomes you as you enter.
I’ve kept the decor on the top simple with a candle, plants, and my clay antique cross.
Across from the entry you can see the living and dining areas.
My favorite thing is to switch out pillows to different colors and textures to create a totally new look. Blue and yellow are so classic, so I felt like they were perfect for summer.
I keep switching chairs around since that is about all I can switch out. I’ve had a leather chair here and this pretty white one in the master bedroom. I switched them with each other. I love the lighter white for the warm months of summer.
I kept the coffee table decor really simple with just a couple of candles and a basket of flowers.
If we turn around from the living area, you can see how the dining area is nestled in the corner of the room next to the stairs.
I set the table with blue and yellow to coordinate with the living area.
A pretty bouquet of sunflowers inside my blue and white cachepot adds some pretty color.

Our Southern Home – Christy’s home is stunning. I especially love her gorgeous screened-in porch. Such a great spot to spend the summer. She always has such great decor and entertaining ideas for the porch too.
Grace In My Space – Sarah has such a keen eye for decor. I am amazed at how many wonderful room arrangements she can come up with. Using space to create different ways a room can flow and be used is definitely a talent she has mastered.
Hymns & Verses – Doreen’s home is a reflection of her warm and friendly personality. Switching up decor for summer always leads her outdoors. Her porch is such a favorite spot.
Southern Hospitality – Rhoda’s home is filled with tons of custom DIY details that will totally inspire you. Then she finished off everything with just the perfect touches and vignettes for each season.
Chalking Up Success – Jayne’s style is a bit Transitional Coastal. I love how creative she is with her accessories. As you can see from the picture below, her vignettes are full of ideas and inspiration that you will want to copy.

Marty, your home looks so pretty and inviting for summer with the small touches of navy and yellow! Switching the chair to linen from leather for the warm months really makes a difference and I love your area rug in the living room. I too love how open it is but can see your point on it being a little intimidating to decorate. Love all the “sections” though and it looks amazing. The touches of blue and yellow are perfectly summer. Great tour!

This looks perfect for Summer Marty. Large, tall spaces can be super daunting to decorate, but I think you nailed it! I also especially love the use of the blue and white vase with sunny yellow flowers as your centerpiece, as it definitely gives a Southern Summer vibe.

Love your yellows and blues! I am doing something similar this year and will probably repeat next summer because it’s such a classic summer combo of colors. Great choice to switch the chairs for the summer months. Love your console styling and the beautiful blue vase on the dining table.
