What A Difference When Christmas Comes Down

What a difference when Christmas comes down.  Wow, the house always seems so empty and sad when you take down all the Christmas.  Then there are all those bins to be put away and a huge mess to clean up.  Looks like we just moved in, and need to decorate.

Since we had the frosted tree up in here, there was a huge pile of fake snow when I took it down.  Seems like it had drifted everywhere.  I’ve used every vacuum in the house to get it all cleaned up.  I have most of it up, so I took a rest for a minute and snapped this picture.  Things look a little sad and empty.

This is how it looked with the tree up, so much happier.

The dining area looks really empty and sad too.

This looked so much more inviting with my Christmas setting.

The family room didn’t have a lot of Christmas decor, but it really looks empty with even those few things packed away.  The coffee table needs some help and the sofa could use some love too.

Even small touches of Christmas can make a room look festive.

The kitchen just got a good cleaning, but it needs a few decorations now.

Color at Christmas always brightens up any room.

The breakfast table was simple with just a small Santa and a tree.

Once the table was stripped down it looks like a mess.  However that fabulous gold tray was a wonderful Christmas Present.  I love it.

Ok, downstairs has been vacuumed and mopped.  Time to head upstairs and clean up all the mess there.  Then the fun of putting some new vignettes together and creating a different look for Winter.  I will be joining a Winter Home Tour hosted by Amber @ Follow The Yellow Brick Home on January 10th.  So time to put my thinking cap on and redecorate the house.

You can see my Winter Home Tour last year here.

Thank you for sharing this, Marty! It’s so true that things look so bare when we’ve tucked away Christmas decor. I’m looking forward to doing the same this weekend and am ready for a fresh new look for the new year. Looking forward to seeing your decor! Wishing you a Happy New Year!
