Adding Spring Decor In The Kitchen

When we moved in the kitchen was the first remodel we did and I still love it.  I like to cook and entertain, so I spend a lot of time in here.  It’s fun to add some seasonal decor to change the room up a bit.  I am so happy Spring is right around the corner.  We have had a really unusually wet winter, so I am really looking forward to temperatures in the 70’s and lots of sun instead of cloudy skies.  Adding Spring Decor In The Kitchen always brightens my mood.

I try to keep the counters clear of any unnecessary clutter, but I do love to mix in a few of my favorite decor pieces.  Adding my pig cutting board adds a touch of whimsy.  The brass tray holding oils and wood utensils are used daily, so they are always on display.  I use the mixer a lot so I keep it out in the corner.

The island is a favorite place to decorate and my little drunken chef always makes me smile.  I just baked a batch of cookies, so I put some in my little tin cloche.  Now I just need to try not to eat them all today.

On the other side of the island is our Breakfast area.  This is a nice space large enough to hold my farmhouse trestle table.  I usually have it set for 6 but we can seat 3 on each side if we need to accommodate 8.  When I am Adding Spring To The Kitchen, I always try to change up the table in the breakfast area too.

Today the table is set with gold chargers, white plates, gray napkins and gold stemless glasses.  Perfect for everyday or company.

I like to keep the centerpiece simple so we can all visit during our meal.  The glass hurricanes are tall but you can see through them, so we can still have nice conversations. Plants are always a good idea.  I love to mix the planters up too.  Adding the wood planter gives the table a bit of an accent from everything being all white.

Your blog post stopped arriving in my email. I’ve tried re-subscribing, but still not receiving them. I’m not on Facebook much, but that’s the only way I’m seeing you.
