Memorial Day – Remembering Loved Ones. Time to remember and honor all those we have lost. While we honor and remember “ALL”, there is one special person I am remembering most today, my husband Jim Oravetz.

This is a special time for me for another reason too, our 42nd Wedding Anniversary is coming up in a few days. We were married on June 9, 1984.
Jim went home to be with the Lord on August 13, 2020. He is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

It is such a beautiful cemetery. Every grave and all the grounds are so lovingly cared for. I am so happy that Jim has been buried there.
For Memorial Day and Holidays, every grave is marked with a flag. It is such a spectacular sight to see. 46,000+ flags honoring each Veteran.

I visit him a couple of times a week. I like to make sure his flowers and flag are in place and talk to him. I have a vase of flowers there also for my son, who passed away on January 13, 2022. His ashes were spread in Oregon, but I love being able to honor him and talk to him at the same time I visit Jim. (The hot temperatures and wind are making the flowers wilt pretty fast. I will replace them in the next few days.)

The grounds are always open to the public. I visit them 2 to 3 times a week. I miss them both so much. My heart is filled with wonderful memories that make each day brighter. I was Blessed with a very special man for my Husband and a very special man for my Son.
Happy Memorial Day – Hope your day is filled with sweet memories too.
