2018 Summer Home Tour – My Home

Welcome to the 2018 Summer Home Tours –  We have 30 fabulous ladies sharing their homes over the next 5 days.
I am thrilled to be starting things off, so grab something cool and refreshing and come on in.

If you were to step inside my front door, this is the view you would have.  I love that you can see through to the backyard and upstairs to the landing and loft.  (If I had a wide angle lens you could even see the living room on the right.)

Just inside the door is a console table.  Perfect place to drop my keys, mail and purse.

As you could see, the living and dining areas are all one open space with huge vaulted ceilings and 9′ tall windows.  I love how the light just pours in all day long.

I do like color, but at the moment I am really loving neutrals, so my home is filled with just a touch of color.

Camel- gray and white mostly.  I love that combination. (I had this combination in my family room for a while.  I love that things can shift from room to room)

Dining Area

I normally have a table setting, but I decided to keep it simple and light for Summer.

A mix of different buds and stems, always so fresh and reminds me of summer gardens breaking into bloom.

Just a bottle of wine waiting to be shared.

Now let’s take a peak at some of the rest of the house.  The family room, kitchen and breakfast area span the entire back of the house.  This is where we hang out most of the time.

The family room is still a work in progress but I like the direction it is going.

My beloved horse painting always takes center stage.

Another horse found it’s way to the coffee table.

Now a picture from the family room back to the kitchen and breakfast area.

The kitchen was the first room we remodeled when we moved in.  I love how it turned out.  You can see the complete renovation here.  The two large windows in the breakfast area and the sliding door next to the peninsula keep this room filled with beautiful sunshine all day too.

Here is a peak at how it looked when we moved in.

Be sure to check out how we added under counter lights without any wiring here.

My harvest table can seat 8 comfortably, so this is the favorite place for our family to gather.

I like to keep it set with a simple centerpiece so we can use it every day.

UPSTAIRS – – –

I claimed the loft area as my office/girl cave.  It is where I spend a lot of time and one of my favorite rooms.  It proves that all those misfits from our previous home can come together to create the perfect space.  You can see the full reveal of this space here.

I recently showcased the Master Bedroom for the Beautiful Bedroom Tour.  Be sure to check it out if you missed it.

Thanks for the visit, I loved having you and hope you will stop by again soon.

Next up on the tour is Tammy @ Pink Peppermint Design.  Tammy’s Upscale Farmhouse Style is full of inspiration and DIY projects.

Setting For Four – Heather has created the most amazing spaces in her home.  She makes her contemporary style look cozy and inviting. (I adore that horse painting.)

Nesting With Grace – Brooke has taken small space living to upscale heights that you will want to copy.

Cuckoo4Design – Julia is amazing with how she styles a room and adds her special DIY talent to every room with her accessories.

Southern Hospitality – Rhoda has been transforming her new home into the perfect place for her and her new hubby.
