Fall Decor In The Past – How My Style Has Changed

We moved into this home the last of December 2016, so we really started decorating and enjoying this new house in 2017.  We used what we had when we moved in, then started kitchen and bathroom makeovers, so our decor was whatever I had in my stash.  Over these last 4 1/2 years, a lot of changes have taken place, so it was fun to take a look back at how things looked then and how things look now.

2017 Fall Home Tour – This look is a version of what I had in the previous home.  The only new item was the rug, everything else remained the same.  Remember that mirror, it was such a focal point in the last home and became so controversial in this house.  As this picture was taken we had been in our new home 9 months, so lots of changes still going on.

2018 Fall Home Tour – We were in our second year in this home and my style was definitely changing again.  This home had much more contemporary architectural features than our last home.  I loved the two-story ceilings and all the dramatic angels, plus those 9 ft. windows let in such amazing light.  The living area was a little smaller than the previous home, so I loved adding a white chair to give the room a totally neutral background to work with.  (Note that huge mirror is still here.)

2019 Fall Home Tour – 2019 saw quite a few changes in decor.  Out with the huge mirror and it was replaced with a smaller feature mirror.  All that dark wood was bothering me, so the coffee table was switched out to something more contemporary or transitional.  A pretty plant was added and even a couple of new dining chairs to the dining area.  Now things were looking more like my new style – and I think this style fits the house well too.

2020 Fall Home Tour – 2020 seemed to capture the look and feel I love best in this home.  Contemporary colors mixed with my transitional furniture and accessories say me.  Sometimes I like bright colors, but soft tones seem to fit me and this home best.

2021 Fall Home Tour – Here is a teaser sneak peak at what you’ll see this year.  A few more changes from last year again.  I love how this home has evolved.

What a fun, fun post! They all looked lovely, but it’s so much fun — and so inspiring — to see the transitions!
