Christmas Favorite Things

I always love to look back and see some of my favorite things from past Christmas.  Each year there is something that brings a smile to me every time I see it.  I think we all have some tried and true Christmas traditions that we love.  I am definitely one that loves to keep up those family traditions, but it’s fun to do something a little different each year too.  It might be a spot I don’t usually decorate, a new decor idea, a favorite snapshot or just a memory.  All of these become my Christmas Favorite Things.

I love my beautiful Nativity set and love to give it a special place of honor for each Christmas.  One of my favorites is to use it as the center of my Christmas Tablescape.

I think it is the perfect centerpiece for our table.

Another favorite is to create a fun centerpiece that my youngest grandson would love.  Who could resist Santa’s sleigh filled with tons of toys for all the good little boys and girls.  I also like to sneak in one small present for him to open.

 

I don’t always decorate all over the whole house, however, when I feel extra inspired, it’s fun to add some Christmas to rooms that I usually by-pass.  My Girl Cave/Office/Loft is one space that I had fun adding a few bits of Christmas decor too.

Our Guest Bedroom is another place that I don’t always go all out in.  However, if we are having company, it’s fun to add some Christmas cheer to this room too.

Another space that has usually been undecorated is our Master Bathroom.  Not sure why this room was usually left behind without any decor, but when I give it a few small touches it always makes me smile every time I walk in.

It doesn’t have to be a lot, but some trees and a fun reindeer.

One of my all-time favorite memories happened the first year we lived here.  I put the tree up right before Thanksgiving.  As our family sat down for dinner, we said grace and then looked up and saw the light from upstairs shining on the angel atop our tree.  This was such a special sight and one we all look for every year since.  At just the right time in the afternoon, the light always shines on our angel to let us know the Lord is here.

Every year there is always something that seems special and is my favorite.  I can’t wait to see what that will be this year.  How about you, any favorites that you love too?
