Small Entry Ideas That Will Make Yours Special

Small Entry Ideas That Will Make Yours Special.  We don’t really have a separate entry, you walk right into our living room when you enter our home.  However, I do like to create the illusion of an entry.  A small console, lamp, painting and chair help to create an entry on the long two-story wall of my living room.  Changing out the accessories on the console each season makes this area a welcoming space for my guests.  It’s also where I can dump my packages and keys when I come in with a hand fullof things.

A console, table or small shelf will give you a place to put a small lamp and accessorize with a plant and maybe a dish to hold your keys.  If you have room, a stool, chair or bench is perfect.  That gives you a place to take off your boots, jacket and set down any packages when you come in.  Maybe an umbrella stand if you live in cold or rainy weather where you use one often.  It doesn’t have to be much, just a place that looks inviting and one that says, come on in and put your stuff down and relax.

Buffet Table as Entry Console Table.

When we bought this house, I didn’t have any kind of a console or bench to use for an entry.  I did have a buffet table that I used in my dining room, so I could use that.  It was narrow and long enough to hold a lamp and a few accessories, so I put it in place.  I used an extra large ottoman as a bench sitting beside it as a place to sit down and to hold my packages as I came in.  I decorated the area with a cute basket and the table with some fun accessories for the season and hung a pretty painting on the wall.  Instant Entry.

Later on I moved a console I had in the family room to the entry, added a fabulous chair that my daughter gave me and updated my entry to a more modern or transitional style that fit my room better.  Again a few fun accessories and a cut “Puppy” statue created a welcoming entry.

Warming Up The Entry For Fall.

This arrangement works well with my home and style, so I kept these pieces in place.  Now I just change the accessories for the season or when I feel like it.

Coastal Boho Ideas

What is Coastal Boho Style?  Well from what I can tell, it is a mix of minimal, organic, coastal, and eclectic decor all rolled into one.

A shell covered box, shell and bead garland and a rustic carved wood bowl. Add in a plant and candle and this says Boho to me.

Easy Christmas Entry Decor.

I am happy there is room for a tall plant.  I had to move this one so I could put the tree in the front window, so now it is part of my entry.  I like it.

Faux trees and reindeer create my Christmas vignette.

2020 Summer Home Tour

Summer always makes me in the mood to clear out clutter and lighten up my surroundings.

No matter your space or situation, large or small, some kind of shelf, bench, console or table will create the perfec entry for your home.  Make it a space you love to see and one you can switch up.  Changing things is half the fun.
