Easy & Inexpensive DIY Projects

I always feel about this time of year that I am ready for a change.  I’m just about over summer and yet it is too hot and still too long until fall.  So I thought I would share a few really Easy & Inexpensive DIY Projects you can do right now to spruce things up.  A few simple DIY projects and you can create a whole new look for your room.  It’s always fun to change up a few vignettes too.

How To Paint A Garden Stool.  These are such versatile pieces to have, they work in just about any room.  I have several and use them outside too.  I found a really inexpensive one that really needed a paint job, so I have a great tutorial to show you how to paint one of your own.

Add some interest to a wall somewhere.  Try a closet for an unexpected surprise.  These Dots & Dashes can be done with a small brush and a small jar of black paint in about an hour.

I am sure you have seen Bar Carts all over blogland.  If you don’t have one but want to set up a nice Bar Area for your guests, how about using a cabinet or table.  Here is how I set up a Wine Bar area on top of our wine cabinet.  This was an unfinished wine cabinet that I stained years ago.  It was the perfect place to set up a small Wine Bar Vignette on top.  Just some wine, an opener, napkins, bowl for corks and great wine.  You could also use a tray and set up a Liquor Bar area on a console table.  Easy and simple additions to any decor.

It’s hard to imagine that this is one of my most pinned projects ever.  A simple DIY Toilet Tank Tray.  You can see the step by step tutorial in my post.  This takes advantage of that space to decorate and add some function to the top of your toilet.

The Dollar Stores are full of all kinds of glass containers.  I have used this tutorial dozens of times to Gold Leaf Glass vases, candle hurricanes, office pencil cups, paperclip containers and just about anything I can get my hands on.  Gold is still all the rage, so create something fun for Fall and even the upcoming Holidays.

How to DIY an Acrylic Tray.  Acrylic trays can be really expensive, but I have a cheat that gives you one for pennies.  Check out my “how to”.

Tassel or Pom Pom pillows are all on trend and sometimes cost a fortune.  I did a post a while back sharing how you can create a tassel pillow for under $5.  Just use a Hobby Lobby $4 pillow cover and buy a $1 skein of yarn and you can do this.  You can use my tutorial to make all the pom poms or just 4 tassels for the corners.

Here’s another one showing how to update a throw with some of these wonderful Pom Poms.

Sometimes it’s the simpliest things that make the biggest impact.  Try a few of these ideas and update your space.
