Some Of My Favorite Color Schemes

Before we get into the meat of this post, I sincerely want to thank you all so much for all the well wishes, condolences, and encouragement regarding my post about Grief and Finding My Way – One Year Later.  You have all been such amazing friends during this very trying last year as I’ve tried to learn how to move forward with my life without Jim.  You have all loved, encouraged, and shown such deep emotional feelings helping me along this journey.  You are my rock and I appreciate all of you more than I could ever say.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your love and support.

It’s funny how we all feel about color.  Some love bright colors full of patterns and some of us like muted, soft, and simple.  I really love both, but in my own home, I do have a preference for something more on the medium side of color.  I like muted patterns and colors most of the time with a bit of bright thrown in for good measure once in a while.  I thought I would share some of my favorite color schemes from the past, and these are the ones you guys seem to like too.

Blue and white is always a favorite and one you guys love best.  I have used blue and white in several versions and colorways in my living room.  I like this one with the dark blue velvet pillow as the star of the show.

This is pretty much the same colors except the check “family” pillow is the star here.

I really love soft more understated colors sometimes, so this one is my favorite navy blue and white version.

One of my favorites of all times blue is definitely Tiffany Blue.  Who doesn’t love that pretty soft color?

For the last few years, gray has been the go-to color.  There are some really pretty combinations of gray that look warm and inviting that I really like.

Winter White & Gray.

My family room has a lot of gray and I love how it goes with the gray and white in the adjoining kitchen.

I have always been partial to earthy colors too.  I like them bright and bold and soft and muted.  Both work for me.  I like the soft and muted camel color in my bedroom.

I also like the more bold camel color in the guest bedroom too.

Sunshine yellow is an all-time favorite too.  Who doesn’t love a pretty yellow moon or a bright sunshiny sky.  I think this is always a happy color.

Every once in a while I step out and add a new color to my list that I like.  Purple and pink are my new favorite.  Not at all what I usually go for, but I love this combination.

These are some of my favorite color schemes, what are your favorite go-to colors?

All of the color variations in your living room are lovely. Quite a different feel with high contrast color schemes and low contrast — all of them very good! Now a question for you — where/how do you store all the different pillows (or pillow covers) and throws??

I buy mostly pillow covers and not pillows stuffed with the inserts. Then I fold them neatly and store them in a hanging rack in a closet. I also hang throws on hangers in a closet, so it really doesn’t take too much room. Thanks, Marty

I like all the color combos so I always have a hard time making up my mind! I do find myself gravitating toward blue and white mostly though. I also like to go along with the seasons, so I use more beige, camel, and yellow in the fall, red and green around Christmas, pink and light green from Valentine’s until late Spring, then back to blue and white for summer. I really like the addition of purple in one of your pictures though. Great post!

I love white walls. You can add any color for any season for complete change at a low cost.
Hope you are well today. Anniversaries are hard.
